RIYADH: The Kingdom has succeeded in shifting the international political, economic and military balance through its hardline policies in dealing with regional issues, particularly Iranian interference and the fight against terrorism.

Jordanian experts agree that the rise of the new power in the Arab region, led by Saudi Arabia, to prevent Iranian influence in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Bahrain, has had a real impact on international politics, particularly those of America.
Former minister and professor of political science Amin Mashaqba said the emergence of the Saudi role in the overall issues affecting the region, especially anti-terrorism, has led to the decline of the American military and political role in the region, adding that holding four summits within 36 hours in Riyadh is evidence that Riyadh has become a compass for the world.
He said the Kingdom’s efforts, including the one to unite Arab and Islamic powers, have changed international perception, with Riyadh becoming among the most important pillars of international decision-making.

Actually, the balance was changed by Iran. Their proxy expansionism had the GCC in fits. That led to their disastrous assistance to ISIS which is now coming back to haunt them more than Iran.
What they have done now is get out of their comfort zones of financing Sunni Extremism versus Iran's Shia Extremism to putting their military into the fight. That is not changing the balance but trying to return it to a previous status.
