KSA & Bangladesh to strengthen ties

The Kingdom and Bangladesh agreed Saturday to cooperate with each other to promote activities in political, commercial, investment and cultural areas.

"We are keen on strengthening our relations with friendly countries such as Bangladesh since we share many things in common," Shoura Council Deputy Chairman Abdul Rahman Al-Barrak told the visiting Bangladesh parliamentary delegation on Saturday.

A high-level parliamentary delegation headed by senior legislator V.H. Haroon, which arrived in Riyadh on Friday on an invitation from the Shoura Council, had talks with Al-Barrak at the council's headquarters on Saturday.

Being members of the Organization of Islamic Conference,(OIC), Al-Barrak said both countries are committed to help each other in matters related to bilateral cooperation.

Haroon, who was leading the nine-member delegation said the Kingdom under the able leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is deemed as a model for Bangladesh.

"We respect Saudi Arabia as our elder brother and respect its cultural and political values," Haroon said. He added that his government appreciates the yeoman services rendered by the Saudi government in serving the Muslim pilgrims who come for Haj and Umrah to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.

The visiting leader hoped that his visit would further strengthen the relations maintained by the Saudi-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Committee.

Bangladesh Ambassador Mohamed Shahidul Islam and Co-Chairman of the Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Committee Rashid Mohamed Al-Kathiri were also present during the discussions.

Following the talks, the ambassador told Arab News the talks were fruitful and both parties identified new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Ambassador Islam hosted a reception in honor of the visiting delegation at his residence on Saturday. Members of the Shoura Council also attended the dinner reception.

The members of the delegation are slated to leave for Jeddah on Sunday where they plan to hold talks with the key officials of the OIC. They will also perform Umrah and visit the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.

KSA & Bangladesh to strengthen ties
AL govt is trying to change Islamic laws in the country. This has made the Saudi Kingdom very annoyed with the present Administration of Bangladesh.
After trying to impose family laws not sanctioned by Islam, AL is trying to drift us towards a dark age. AL wants always to divide the population on issues. It is quite oposite to the policies an administration should adopt.

In a situation like this, Bangladesh cannot expect a coordial relationship with Saudi Arabia. A change of govt may be needed to do so. We depend upon this Kingdom to export our manpower. But, without a proper thought, AL is following such policies that create hitch with it. A visit by some unknown Bangladeshis and trying to appease the Saudi establishment by sweet talks only may not change the Saudi mind.

Stable and stable releations of Bangladesh, a Muslim majority country with Saudi Arabia over long term would be benefitial to both as well Pakistan. We should welcome the developments.

.
Not going to happen. Awami can try but Saudi will not be appease until AL leave office. Saudi Arabia dislike Al because it's anti-Islamic policies and outlook. As a matter of fact, Saudi Arabia didn't recognized Bangladesh until the death of Mujib and changed of our secular constitution to semi Islamic one by president Zia ur Rahman. Saudi Arabia always prefer BNP over AL. Bangladesh relation with Saudi Arabia and Muslim world will improve once BNP come back to office. Until then it's just talk. Nothing will changed in practice.

It would be good if you knew the 'Kingdom' of Saudi Arabia is a Hereditary Monarchy run by the family of Al-Saud. So much for their care for Islamic rules.:hitwall:

So KSA not happy with BD would be like Pot or a piece of coal calling the Kettle black.

Saudis care for Saudi only. They really does not give a damn about Bangladesh or AL or BNP. They want cheap labor from sub continent as well as full supoort for the Saud familly. They stopped taking man power from Bangladesh only because they thought that there were already too many Bangladeshis there and a threat to their society. Now they again came back to hire more people only because they cant find any of our type anywhere in the world. There is another suttle reason which is Middle East violence and they dont want a unfriendly muslim country like Bangladesh who might take side with the democratic force in their country.

I think they stopped hiring due to slowdown. Dont know about soudis, but dubai was really hit by recession. Things are looking up and hence hiring again. Bangladesi migrant workers will flee like any other migrant worker if any such violence breaks out, authorities are not afraid of them.

Yes, sure but you must agree on the fact BNP is a natural allied of Saud family. It is no hidden secret that first Zia and now Begum Zia receive better treatment from Saud family then Awami leauge or Mujib family. Recent visit of Begum Zia may help to reopen the close door for our man power export. It just that Bd get closer to muslim world during BNP while distance during AL. I think foreign Muslim dislike Awamis face. I mean out look. What do you think?
Why don't you tell your body's to lay off from playing with people relegious believe and keep a distance from Dada Bharat.
And little less chapabaazi from mother of all chapabaaz La-Hasina. I mean evan a dead person would wish for second death if some how get to listen to her big talk.

Well when Saudi is okay with Indian Manpower I fail to see how they won't be okay with Bangladeshi one. Do you think India has more Islamic principles in it constitution, I don't think so? Stop looking everything in religious angle. Give your brain a rest.

Relation between you and saudi arabia is based on business. You consume a lot os saudi's oil. In return they take some of your people. It estmiated that there are about 30 lak mangladeshi live and work in the soul land. Two holi city, Makka and Madina vertally run by SA Muslims, mostly from Pakistan and Bangladesh.

So when BD government decided to alter Quranic law, it will have some effect.

KSA already knew that BD people will elect R-AWAMY in 2008 and so advance punishment in 2007. :D

Hiring stopped because of unruly behaviour of Bd workers in Saudi. They started behaving as they do in their home country. They started Hartal, movement for pay raise and others. They even killed some Saudis. It probably happenmed sometime during Military interim govt.
