Independent legislator and Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) chief Er Rasheed on Wednesday asked Pakistan announce during the UN General Assembly’s annual session that it is ready to implement all the terms and conditions laid down by the world-body for implementing its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement, Rasheed said: “Kashmiris have been always thankful to Pakistan for offering and providing moral, diplomatic and political support to their resistance movement, however, India defending a very weak stand, often at various national and international forums and through its ultra-nationalist media has been crying that how can UN resolutions be implemented if Pakistan does not implement pre-requisite conditions laid down by UN.”
He asked the Government of Pakistan to hold a joint session of its parliament and unanimously pass a resolution that it is ready to implement every clause and condition required to hold plebiscite in J&K.
“The same should be communicated by Pakistani Prime Minister to the world community during his annual speech at UN,” he said.
“The move will not only prove Pakistan’s sincerity but the Indian propaganda that Pakistan is not sincere in implementing UN resolutions will fall down and it will for sure increase pressure on Indian state to agree holding a plebiscite on both sides of J&K, besides exposing the myth of Indian lies,” he said.
Rashid rejected the “cosmetic measures proposed in today’s all party meet in New Delhi and reiterated that there is no substitute to Right to Self Determination”.
