What's new

kashmir is unfinished agenda of Partition #COAS

That was a tough decade for India.

3 wars.

As a nation we lost Tibet but avenged '47.

And recovered economically only 20 years later.

Things could so easily have gone so very wrong .....

Oh yes; it certainly was..... Droughts, Huge Crop Failures, Economic doldrums... you name it ... it happened.
Remember PL-480 shipments of wheat from USA ? Most of it was something called "Bulgar Wheat" which was usually fed to live-stock and which happened to be in surplus then. That was India could afford to pay for, and thus got.

But we kept the faith and soldiered on.... without resorting to "quick-fixes" like giving power to Dictators or Gernails, though even those temptations some-times surfaced. But the "good ol' Gaon Bhau in the Pagdi" came through it all.... still a long way to go.... but he will make it through.

The Tank destroyed figures are not correct. It says Pak lost 300 tanks while India lost 128. The numbers would be closer to 250 or 220 to 130.

Otherwise quite a balanced article. :)

Yes the tank figure is a out, but I agree a balanced article that actually celebrates the best of both forces.

That pretty much sums it up.
One side wanted to take away a Province from the other, failed.
The other wanted to emasculate the other's Army, failed.

Enuff said..... about the Military operations, many analytical accounts are there. On the Pakistani side, Maj. A.H.Agha PA is a credible commentator. But it was more or less a conflict fought by mainly brave rank and file men led by largely bungling Generals..... like the Good Ol' Duke of York.

Great post mate.

COAS is playing into Modi's hand

India has serious problems in occupied kashmir, no matter how much they try India can never side step Kashmir, the nuclear flash point.

Partition business was sealed with bangladesh war . This is what happens when professionalism gets mixed with politics. Does he plan to stand for elections after his tenure is over ?

Going by his tone and tenor India can expect some pakistani misadventure during coming december when india commemorates 1971 war. India needs to watch out and step up vigil for terrorist attacks .

Yes you are right. He is wrong in taking the clown Modi...seriously.

Listen to Bhutto and eat grass.

In 1960, Pakistan was a role model for South Korea for its economic reforms, now you regularly feature in fragile state index. That is what Kashmir has done to you.

Modi wants a security state and no development in Pakistan...and that is what he is getting, So who is winning?

We aren't afraid of any nuclear war. We know how to protect our self and destroy the enemy.

Ok..Lets look around. Bangladesh is the son/daughter of India? Calls India their creator?
What India is doing to them? So , submitting to control freak India is no solution, or Bangladesh must have been in great relations with India.
India controls their rivers and continues to build dams and block their water. Kills their soldiers and people on borders. A few things to mention.

Never mind they all met their own fate.
ZA Bhutto said they will eat grass and was hanged by his military. His daughter benazir was another smarty who incited passions and met her gory end.

Pakistan should continue producing such prodigies who drag them to stone age.

No it wasn't, it was a stalemate. That's is the verdict by historians.
Ok....let be it..so you started an war with an objective to wrestle out a piece of land and ultimately end in a stalemate.....is that all you are celebrating for?.....Just because you managed a stalemate against a larger force....did you people ever ask yourself that why at all you started the war? Just to achieve stalemate you ran so much resources and manpower down the drain...
