The ERA blocks are incredibly thick, no reason for them to be that thick with just explosives. I suspect that those blocks are also additional oblique armor.

Blaming IRGC for?

We have hundreds T-72s ... We can modernized them until the indigenous tank gets ready...

I think you know that United States still operating modernized tanks !!!

That would be nothing more than a stop gap solution at best and it still wouldnt change the basic fact that your enemies/potential enemies have more modern tanks that outclass yours,I`m afraid that doing some basic upgrades on late cold war t72s isnt going to make them a match for leclercs,late model abrams and late model leopards and even an indigenous tank program will likely take the better part of a decade,assuming that the design is actually successful that is,before it would start to go into service so what are you going to do for that time period?.The sad fact of the matter is that irans armored forces are just like its airforce ie outdated,decrepit and badly in need of brand new modern equipment.

still the main problem is Air force .... our recent spending is just to have counter measure against groups like ISIS and Al Nusrah in urban warfare ...

APS is a must. Improving armour is wise, but without detecting and destroying infoming ATGM and RPG, its not so substantial

نقل از اداره کل تبلیغات دفاعی وزارت دفاع، سردار دهقان افزود: همه مراحل طراحی و ساخت این 2 دستاورد ارزشمند ملی با همت بلند دانشمندان و متخصصان افتخار آفرین وزارت دفاع، همکاری و مشارکت فعال مراکز علمی - تحقیقاتی کشور و شرکت های دانش بنیان طراحی و ساخته شده است.

وی تصریح کرد: با وجود گشایش هایی که در دوران پسابرجام ایجاد شده است،وزارت دفاع و سازمان های وابسته به این وزارتخانه همچنان با نگاه به توان و استعداد بومی کشور در حال طراحی ،ساخت و تولید نیازمندی های نیروهای مسلح و کمک به توسعه ملی هستند و با فعال سازی توان و ظرفیت شرکت های دانش بنیان، مسیر پیشرفت کشور را با کمترین وابستگی به خارج از مرزها دنبال می کنند.
وزیر دفاع با بیان اینکه توانمندی های بسیار بالایی در حوزه های مختلف صنعتی و فناوری های پیشرفته به ویژه در حوزه هوایی و هوافضا در کشور وجود دارد، تاکید کرد: با رویکرد اقتصاد مقاومتی و بهره گیری از شبکه گسترده همکاران در بخش غیر دولتی قادریم کلیه نیازهای کشور را در این حوزه طراحی و تولید کنیم.
وی، هشتمین نمایشگاه بین المللی هوایی ایران در کیش را فرصت مناسب و مغتنمی برای شناسایی و بکارگیری ظرفیت هایی که در این عرصه وجود دارد ذکر کرد و افزود: البته ما در تعامل با دنیا علاوه بر بازاریابی برای محصولات خود تلاش می کنیم از آخرین فناوری ها و دانش روز آنان نیز برای پیشرفت در بخش های مختلف بهره برداری کنیم و این نمایشگاه و نمایشگاه های مشابه می تواند چنین بستری را فراهم کند.
وزیر دفاع با اشاره به حضور فعال سازمان و شرکت های وزارت دفاع در هشتمین نمایشگاه بین المللی هوایی ایران گفت: شرکت صا ایران و سازمان های صنایع هوایی، هوافضا و صنایع دفاع این وزارتخانه با همین رویکرد گام های بلندی در حوزه های صنعتی و فناورانه برداشته اند.
وزیر دفاع در پایان با قدردانی از دست اندرکاران برگزاری این نمایشگاه و مجموعه هایی که با حضور فعال زمینه برپایی کیفی آن را فراهم کرده اند، تصریح کرد: مجموعه توانمندی ها اعم از منابع و سرمایه های طبیعی و انسانی در کشور این قابلیت را دارد که بتواند در اکثر حوزه ها جمهوری اسلامی ایران را به رتبه های برتر سوق دهد و این مهم در سایه مدیریت هوشمندانه،همت های بلند و کار و تلاش بی وقفه قابل تحقق است که بحمدالله با تدابیر رهبر معظم انقلاب، سیاست ها و رویکردهای دولت خدمتگذار و همکاری فعالان عرصه های علمی، پژوهشی، صنعتی و فناورانه در این مسیر قرار داریم.

They pick turret of T72 and fit it on M60 and name it some XYZ new tank.
Then they pick M60 turret and put in on T72 chassis and name it some ABC new tank.
Same sort of relation is shared by T55 and M48.

They never reveal data about technical capability, production and deployment status.
Same thing happened with Sabalan Tank, Zulfiqar3 Tank, Tian tank and now we have Karrar tank which look like Iranian clone of T72 tank.

In case of Armor, China is no longer copying any thing.
There ZTZ series is different compared to Russian T series of tanks.
