What's new

Karachi's Bahria Town Private City is Bigger Than San Francisco

Lol, have you been there? It's as planned as Dubai.

But it has no legal water and power supply lines and is the hallmark of corruption in Pakistan.

I do not understand why people are supporting this 'town' when it is miles away from settlement and is illegal till those 7 installments of bribes are delivered to the highest court.

present karachi infrastructure cannot support this project, looting K4 from people of karachi and install it in bahria town is the biggest robbery which has happened with the city and its people. Karachi has no mass transportation, it cannot as i stated bear the load of sewage etc. Questions have been raised on illegal high rises constructed without any proper planning and legal means already and bahria town will serve as salt on the wound.

precious pakistani heritage and hundreds of years old tombs were destroyed to make this filth. land grabbing on ''San Francisco'' level.

when she does dare to ban someone who is not Chinese you all get it over-tuned so what is the point?

I never interfere in Moderators job, who they ban and whom they don't is not my concern, but if you are moderator you have a job to ban posters who break your own forum rules, or else give up the title .

Problem isn't lack of water but lack of will to pay over Rs142 per month for 1000 gallons of water.

"In Karachi, houses pay Rs142 per 1,000 gallons of water they get from the KWSB pipe network. Take a minute and think about that number 142 rupees. Clearly, it gives the message that we can live without water but not Netflix." Every year the MD wants to raise the price of water in Karachi by 9%, something which the government has approved since 2015. But he is not given permission to do it because it would be political suici

No such problems in DHA and Bahria where people can afford to pay more for water or at least not cry. The solution is water meters along with price that will allow KWSB to upgrade.

No public transportation even in the really big cities?
There is public transportation but its mismanaged.

Apart from that there is private buses etc.. aka transporters mafia.

In some cities we have BRTs and in Karachi we had (now reviving) circular railway system.

In Lahore, there is a newly built Metro.

BRTs

It's not miles away. You clearly haven't seen it.

Judgement has already been passed, now stop trying to bite off more than you can chew.

Try driving from city center Karachi to Bahria town and tell me how far it is away from the city.

Judgement can always be reversed by full bench.
