There lies the solution for Karachi's transportation woes....would they ever recognize its potential @Bombaywalla ?

Wow, this is beautiful.

Thank you :)

There is no doubting Islamabad's natural beauty, but I can think of many cities in India and indeed the world comparable to Islamabad's population, that are set in beautiful locales as well.

It is not just about the locality

The road network....the general infrastructure....

Plus its not anymore a small population center

By 2020 the population will reach 2 million

I'm an eternal optimist, so the way I see it, they will eventually. Their Circular Railway network would be massively beneficial ... obviously. That's for them to decide, though. I hope they don't get a half-baked BRT system worthy of a tier 2/3 city, but a decent metro rail system instead.

I can think of one city that has an excellent road network, and good general infrastructure, and has a similar population as that of Islamabad's: Chandigarh.

Yes, it is.
Islamabad is for elites only.

The road network....the general infrastructure....
Every city have roads & in the name of infrastructure its recently got BRT (as its not much pressing needs due to most people own cars) & International airport is still under construction.
But Major Indian cities got more than that.

Less that population a suburb of Mumbai as at that time total population of Mumbai expected to grow near 30 million.

Islamabad is for elites only.

No, its not

A large section of the population is middle class

I know this because i live here....you haven't even been here once

This perception may have been true for the 90's but not anymore

Every city have roads & in the name of infrastructure its recently got BRT

Yup roads like these

International airport is still under construction.

The international airport was/is right next door in Rawalpindi

Its not as if citizens of Islamabad were denied international air traffic

I know just Dharavi has a population of one million

Chalo aik aur thread sahi :)

I've been all around the world and have yet to see a city that can rival Islamabad.
