Karachi still colder with mercury at 7

KARACHI: Extreme weather conditions have posed hardships for the Karachiites on Wednesday; also, an international news agency reported that Karachi will have the record level of low temperature today.

The wave of extremely cold weather commenced yesterday and this wave still persists in the city and is expected to last for next couple of days.

Meteorological Department said that minimum temperature recorded till 11am was 7 degree centigrade and the maximum temperature was 9 degree Celsius.

Met Department said zero degree Celsius was recorded in the metropolitan in 1934. While, a British news agency reported that Karachi would face minus one degree Celsius on Wednesday, which if happens, will break 74-year old record of cold weather in Karachi.

Extreme cold weather has triggered the apprehensions of the increase in weather-related diseases and the citizens are quite concerned over it.

Funny how global warming is causing weird temperatures everywhere. Today here in DC the temperature is 65 F (around 19 C)!!! I am walking around in a t-shirt in January, it's amazing! It's supposed to snow on Sunday. Shows just how temperature anomalies are getting more frequent with wild swings in a single week.

Since I used to wake up around 6 o clock in the morning for my heavy weight exercising from last several years on discipline basis, but from last couple of month due to shivering winter in mumbai well below 9 degree celicious has made my routine waking up like a hell.
I find it really hard to step out of the house at 6 o clock as cold wave is on at all time peak at that timeline and hence it has caused me severe sneeze as well cough to me.

Sometimes I thaught, we get frozen under the climate tempreature of 9 degree celcious, but I astonish as how the hell on earth the soldiers who are guarding our frontiers in high Himalayan mountain under extreme cold wave and get acclamtize themseleves under the tempreature of minus degree celcious.

Average temerature in January and February here in Holland is below zero, usually -2 to -6C, the city canals are frozen and we go ice skating everyday.

Worse I've seen was -18C in 1982 or 84, I do not remember precisely. Even the Wadden Sea froze for three days....brrrr.

It was 2.5 Celcius in Londona nd I had to watch him play for one hour standing out in the cold.To say that Ifroze my socks off would be an understatement. To top it all off, he comes back in his shorts and T shirt and tells me "WHY DO YOU FEEL SO COLD, LOOK AT ME i AM SWEATING." Arggh Kids these days can be so cruel!!!
