Kaneria's life ban: I am being mistreated because I am Hindu

Oh come on, nothing would make us all more proud as Pakistani fans of the men in green, to see minorities in our ranks, it would make me proud if we had more.

.
Is Salim Malik also being discriminated for being Hindu?

.
actually he felt like a fool worshipping a man made object and asking for blessings from said object which in its natural form he'd go in the woods and piss on

I'm sure the story of a snake asking Eve to eat an apple is the more intelligent version of the story.

.
if amir salman butt and asif convicted match fixers are allowed to play what about this guy i fully agree with this guy he is mistreated many hindu minortiy already fled to india this is real truth if pcb doesnt give him chance ipl or australian cricket league should take him for many years i havent seen him playing for years and he is also having a a family to support if this g uy is unemployed in home he must go to foreign country iam sorry for my harsh words but this is truth

. .
:what: BUT ICC is funded and controlled by Hindus so why would they discriminate against own brother?

Pakistan’s most prolific Test spinner Danish Kaneria has forwarded his plea to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in order to get one last hearing on his spot-fixing case which resulted in a life ban.

“It will save me, my life, and whatever cricket is left in me,” said Kaneria. “I am living on my last savings. I do not know how long I will survive. I can even teach young Indians the art of spin, can’t I? Why can’t they call me? I am one of them.”

ECB seeks Pakistan’s help in recovering $390,000 from Kaneria

Kaneria is only the second-ever Hindu to play for Pakistan at the highest level — the first was his wicket-keeping cousin Anil Dalpat — and was something of a poster-child for the country’s minorities until his ban.

The 35-year-old believes he has exhausted all options in Pakistan and is being shunned aside only because he is a Hindu — a minority in the country.

“Every avenue has dried up for me in Pakistan; I seem to have no takers for my appeals from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). I am dying,” said Kaneria. “It is because I am a Hindu, a minority in Pakistan. It is because I refused to admit my involvement in spot-fixing when the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) charged me. I want to be heard, is it very difficult to hear me out?”

The leg-spinner added that International Cricket Council (ICC) chief executive Dave Richardson told him that the world body acted on the decision taken by the ECB and that is why they will not entertain his plea.

Danish Kaneria summoned by SHC over ECB’s recovery claims

“I told him he was biased, many have been pardoned, why not me,” questioned Kaneria. “The Scotland Yard found no evidence against me; the ECB reacted on the basis of the confessions of one cricketer. Look at the way the PCB has handled Mohammad Amir’s case. What about me? Isn’t that unfair?”

When told that Amir admitted his guilt and responded well to the rehabilitation program, Kaneria said, “He did [so] because he was involved, I didn’t because I was not. It’s almost like punishing me for introducing Mervyn Westfield to Anu Bhatt [an Indian businessman suspected of involvement in illegal betting].”

Kaneria, who has taken 261 wicket for Pakistan in 61 Tests, said he has been living a life which resembled a house arrest and the BCCI is now his only hope towards an honourable exit.

SHC orders Kaneria to submit his reply

“See what I have been reduced to by the ECB, the ICC and the PCB. I cannot play any cricket falling under the ambit of PCB. I cannot visit a PCB ground, nor can I train at their facilities. I cannot even meet my former cricketer friends. It’s like living under house arrest,” said Kaneria, who still trains for a few hours at the Karachi Parsi Institute Ground with some locals.

“Only the BCCI can save me. [BCCI secretary] Anurag Thakur should consider my case and urge [president] Shashank Manohar to speak to the ICC. Lift the ban, help me get an honourable exit.”

A disciplinary panel of the ECB banned Kaneria in June 2012 after he was found guilty of corruption while playing for Essex in a limited-overs match in 2009 and imposed a fine of £100,000 on the cricketer.

He lost his second and final appeal against the penalty in August 2014.

Not this minority card again - this has also happend to Muslim players; but when its a minority player - it is considered 'persectuion'

Everyone has the right to be proud of their ancestry. My ancestral village in in modern day Rajasthan in india. Im a proud Bhatti Rajput!

Nothing wrong with bring proud of your ancestry and lineage, but am sure you don't go around talking about independence of Rajasthan in totally random and irrelevant threads like this one right?

If you read the post it was almost completely about Kaneria's ban and also linked to our own experiences as minorities in Indian occupied parts. It was a perfectly related topic. As for independence, we'll get it. And our region will be merged with Pakistan. The reason you Indians fear me is because people like me challenge the stereotype of Muslims being integrated in India rather than being against it. Our grandfather is the biggest example of muslim league supporter and advocate of Pakistani unity and strengthening.

@t topic. Kaneria should be given a chance people.

I

As a Lucknowi I strongly disagree. There are core reasons behind anyone making such a statement and there is immense frustration with the system behind any such claim-don't you think Kaneria has tried everything? Denigrating Kaneria is not the solution but the solution is to provide him with equal rights and acceptance. When Muhammed Amir has been accepted into our arms then why Kaneria?

When minorities complain it should be seen as an opportunity to improve the system rather than blame him for being unpatriotic. Kaneria clearly said he is proud to be Pakistani. The issue is the moment some minority makes such a statement we start doubting their loyalty to nation and people. Though I vouch for independence of Lucknow loyal Indian Muslims have been suffering the same thing for decades. They are told to go to Pakistan the moment they ask for their rights. I don't think the case with Kaneria is any different.
As a Lucknowite who actually live in Lucknow and know that 70% population of Lucknow is Hindu and that Lucknow doesnt have any resources to survive as an independent state I would like to tell you to stop using the name of my city.

The reason you Indians fear me is

LOL yar havi we absolutely fear you. In fact we shudder whenever we hear of havizsultan of PDF.

On topic: we should totally and completely support Danish Kaneria. In a place like pakistan where non muslims are easy targets and lesser pakistanis, we can certainly extend our help and we must. With his talents he rose up to play in the national team and when chips are down, his hindu identity will come against genuine redressal of his grievances.

Corrupts does not espouse our sympathy whichever religion one belongs to is immaterial. Many here argue fixers should be banned for life, and I support the same for Asif and Butt. But they got out due to some clout in PCB.
Try finding another avenue at survival Mr. Kaneria.

And you are a mind reader who knows what really happened there! May i remind you that he was a christian when he was accepted and played as a christian for several years before converting!

And he was completely bypassed to give the captaincy to Younis Khan, even though he was deputy to Inzi. Remember? I actually came to know that he was a Christian only when he converted.

If Afridi performs in 1 match his place in the team is confirmed for a year" Danish Kaneria

When Pakistan lost to West Indies in the 2015 World Cup, media did not protest against the players and the management and hence we did not see a change"
"Honest bowlers like Rahat Ali, Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan get discouraged when a convicted player like Mohammad Amir gets prefered over them" "What is our management doing? What strategies have we come up with?

What batsmen have we produced over the last few years?"
"Our batsmen aren't very familiar with the New Zealand's conditions which are usually very damp" "Pakistan should have taken some genuine spinners with them on to the tour,
Imad Wasim is a part-timer and I don't consider Shahid Afridi a specialist spinner because he is an orthodox bowler" "It's useless to talk about Shahid Afridi because you never know when he is able to perform or not" "If Shahid Afridi performs in a one odd match, his place in the team will be confirmed for a whole year"
"The board doesn't recruits the people who have a fair understanding of the game hence we are in a bad situation"
"I bet that the chief selector doesn't even knows the names of top ten domestic bowlers in the country"
"All the players who have represented Pakistan in the past only talk on television for the betterment of the team, we don't hold any personal grudges"
"I don't understand on what basis Iftikhar Ahmed got selected for the team"
"Players like Aamer Yamin deserve more chances" "Someone should let me know about Ahmed Shehzad's performance as to why is he still with the team?"
"Ahmed Shehzad's friendship with Shahid Afridi is the only reason why he is still in the team" "Ahmed Shehzad probably has friendship with Shahid Afridi and some other connections as well" "Shahid Afridi's performance is not good in batting or bowling"
"Talent is there in Pakistan but it will only remain there until it is encouraged" "Talent comes from the lower and the middle class societies and they also have to feed their families" "The player who has talent will eventually end up saying Thank You Very Much if he's discouraged for years" "The board only encourages Yes-Man type players"
"We have destroyed our own cricket and it is still being destroyed"
"It appears that the England Cricket Board runs the Pakistan Cricket Board" "The ECB seemed to have told the PCB that they have some incriminating evidence against members of the PCB which they will bring to the fore if my case is touched"
"The people in the Pakistan Cricket Board are hiding like kittens in a corner over my issue"

"Mohammad Amir did a crime and was convicted, yet he is back wearing a Pakistan shirt"
"There are people in the board who have played a big part in ruining my case" "The same people are involved with bookies themselves" "Pakistan's name is defamed because of my case and the only people to blame are the ones sitting in the board"
"There is no evidence or anything against me in my case" "As Rashid Latif Bhai pointed Anu Bhatt (bookie) was photographed with Zakir Khan and Subhan Ahmed and he was visiting on PCB's invitation" "I'm still asking anyone who will listen to look into my case"

Totally Agree with Dinesh's comments.

I also think that fixers must be punished. But there is a problem in the Pak team. Remember Yusuf Yohanna?
Nothing happened to him, stop assuming things, I've met Yousaf many time in person and he is a very good friend of my bro & we have hosted him many time, he was Neva forced to convert, stop this BS
