My Lordship Honourable Mr. Justice Jawad S. Khawaja has by now retired as Chief Justice of Pakistan.

2. Last month our mini scree raised nation’s high hopes on his taking over for a short 24 days. Almost all our Anchors hyped forecasting that remember able national good would come during this tenure. For one example, Kanwar Irshad in his own tenure what he did not do and today every evening is giving bashans what the Election Commission must do stated that “Justice Jawad Khawaja is doing a Great Kidmat to the nation”.

3. It is often “now” learnt from talk shows that it was the electronic media which during restoration of judiciary extraordinarily painted the coming dreaming glorious “Adal-e-Jehangari” in the country. On the re-birth of the judiciary, however, while the nation almost every evening heard of a new suo moto, tall sultan rahi style observations but practically the final outcome of those remained almost “nil butta nil”. The nation got nothing rather lost; like increased indiscipline in lower courts, new black coats force from which the police too is afraid of, beating of judges in the courts etc. The only quarter got benefit from the new birth appears to be is that some lawyers fees went sky rocking and justice went out of reach for the common man.

4. Honourable Justice Jawad Khawaja’s name came prominently to the knowledge of this senior citizen from amongst the silent majority when he took suo moto while returning from Canada and suffered himself at the airport. He questioned what facilities the Overseas Pakistanis (OPs) were being provided. Twice or thrice about progressive Hearings was read but what was the final Decision at least I could not find similarly as is not known about famous Haj Corruption Case, DG Health Ephedrine licence case etc.

5. What Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary or Mr. Justice Jawad Khawaja “practically” delivered, say, at least to the OPs for whom they took suo motos? Have the facilities to the OPs at airports increased due to his suo moto? This 68 years acute diabetic is in a stage which in common is called as “bonus life with handing legs in the grave”. In this age there is no need for this senior citizen to lie. I solemnly affirm that on arrival March 2015 at Karachi Airport much after the suo mot of Mr. Jawad S. Khawaja, as during the past 25 years I found, as ever before, no tissue papers in WC except as usual a sweeper standing with a tissue box offering one ply to everyone in a bid “for sale”. On return March 2015 I purchased Bahrain-Karachi ticket at Rs. 12,500 airline fare plus Rs. 14,700 as Taxes. At the airport in return to Rs. 14,700 taxes there was no disposal water drinking glass in the departure lounge. Similar as during the last 25 years I found same 2-3 already used disposable glasses on the dispenser. Despite these huge taxes I never got any response whatsoever from CAA against my remarks/observations endorsed on the CAA Facilitation Counter Register.

6. Justice ® Iftikhar Choudhary before his becoming “non functional” issued an order for the care of OPs. What happened to that; nothing. Rather since then except for “in books” there had in practice “been” always a continuous decline for the care of these OPs, even to the extent of “shameful”. The honest thing is since 15-20 years in practically feel able terms there is only incentive to these OPs which is a Rs. 4000 free passport on basis of their annual remittance. In simple words Rs. 800 a year incentive.

7. What more welfare for these OPs after suo moto of Justice Jawad has come is not known. Two months back Nawaz Sharif in the love of OPs has imposed a new Rs. 300 tax on labour class OPs who afford sending less than Rs. 20,000 to their families in Pakistan. White collar workers like me, doctors, accountants, bank manager have been exempted from it. What to talk about facilities at “airports” the cause of suo moto; let it be judged from the fact that just for photo copies of a passport an OP going to USA/Canada needs to pay Rs. 300 to Rs. 400 at airport. It was before Justice Jawad S. Khawaja, during his whole tenure as a judge or CJ and now after him would still be there. Where 3 or 4 photo copies cost Rs. 300/400 then should anyone “true” conscience let him utter even a single word “facility at airport”. People come talking, go talking. What costs in moving lips or tall non-implemented observations?.
