JUNE (6th) Sikhs genocide rememberance

1. The Sikh nation will never ever forgive the Hindu Indians for desecrating their holiest temple, killing in cold blood Sikh heroes like Bhindranwale and Gen Sabegh Singh and the genocide of 1984 and mass killings of Sikhs and destruction of Sikh businesses and places of worship all over India.

2. The Muslims should also brace for such ops to demoralize and punish them.

The Sikhs are only demanding justice for 84 Genocide. But alas they are still not provided.

AMRITSAR: The concluding ceremony (Bhog) of Akhand Path (uninterrupted recitation fo Sri Guru Granth Sahib) recited in the memory of those killed during Operation Bluestar — carred out to flush out terrorists from the Golden Temple complex — was performed at Akal Takht, Sikh's supreme temporal seat, on Thursday.

Both the rival factions of Sikh's prominent seminary, Damdami Taksal, came together at Akal Takht with a large number of their students and followers, but avoided coming face to face.

While the chief of breakaway faction of Damdami Taksal, Baba Ram Singh, along with Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) leader Simranjit Singh Maan sat inside the Akal Takht complex, Chowk Mehta-headquartered Damdami Taksal's chief Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa sat outside with his followers to avoid any clash during the Bhog ceremony.

Maan's followers, however, forced their way into the Akal Takht, pushing aside SGPC's task force, raising pro-Khalistan slogans.

While remembering those killed during Operation Bluestar, Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Gurbachan Singh, said, "August 15 is considered as a day of happiness for the Indian public whereas June 6th will be remembered as a day of sorrow and grief for Sikh panth."

Followers of Maan took control of a temporary stage outside Akal Takht and used their own public address system. Maan called upon Sikhs to continue with Mission Khalistan. After Maan finished his speech and went to pay obeisance at recently erected memorial to Operation Bluestar separatists elements started addressing the gathering and exhorted to intensify the Khalistan movement before helpless police force and SGPC's task force.

Bhai Mohkam Singh, a senior leader of Damdami Taksal, demanded the constitution of a committee to identiy the role of the then Sikh and Congress leadership who had been instrumental in carrying out Operation Bluestar.

Security beefed up in Chandigarh on the eve of Operation Blue Star

The anniversary attains significance as it will be the first function after the completion of the memorial for those who died defending the Golden Temple shrine from the Indian Army in 1984.

Security arrangements in the city have been beefed up ahead of June 6, on which falls the 29th anniversary of Operation Blue Star. Vigil has been stepped up around the walled region especially, to avoid any untoward incident.

The anniversary attains significance as it will be the first function after the completion of the memorial for those who died defending the Golden Temple shrine from the Indian Army in 1984. Different organisations have announced their respective programmes, raising tensions, indicated reports. However, the State’s Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is opposed to the implementation of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in States, observed that gross insensitivity by Central forces had complicated matters for States. Without taking the local situation into account, “Operation Blue Star” was launched by the Central forces on the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev, which resulted in a large number of casualties among innocent pilgrims.

Meanwhile, amid major security deployment, radical Sikh organisation Dal Khalsa organised its “Genocide Remembrance Parade” in the streets of Amritsar, where participants raised slogans in favour of the fiery militant leader Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who was killed during “Operation Blue Star”. Brandishing placards, the participants marched from the organisation’s office near the Railway station, passed through the walled city streets and concluded at the Akal Takhat after performing ardas (prayer service) at the newly-constructed memorial.

Dal Khalsa chief Harcharanjit Singh Dhami demanded that the State government release a list of all those men, women and children killed by the Army in the Golden Temple complex that fateful day. He said the wounds of June 1984 had not healed as the Sikh Nation nursed agony and anguish against the tyranny of the Indian state, especially against the role played by the Congress.

Party spokesman Kanwar Pal Singh said the parade was conducted to reiterate the cause for thousands of Sikhs who laid down their lives in 1984 while defending their faith.

Some anxious moments were witnessed, as some of the marchers protested against the action of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, which had locked the entrance to the basement of the Blue Star memorial, where a gallery has been set up.

Nothing to do with Khalistan.

Your first post on this thread is about Khalistan.. then how can you say it has got nothing to do with Khlistan.

The Sikhs are only demanding justice for 84 Genocide. But alas they are still not provided.

I am with you on this..... If its about Justice to 1984 victims.. I have personally gone to protests and representations asking for justice...... but problem arises when everything boils down to Khalistan... Bhindrawala...and storing Guns inside a worship place....

Politics... just like PAkistani politics in 1970 elections forced East Pakistanis to call for a separate state.

You need to study what was the real cause and what your leaders had made it
Real cause is simple... Just like Muslims in Subcontinent got Pakistan..Sikhs thought they can split the country 2nd time... but India was not going to let that happen.... thus the Khalistan movement was quashed...just like LTTE was quashed by Sri Lanka.
