Journalist Ayaz Mir got attacked by unknown men

. .

Yesterday Ayaz criticized heavily army's top leadership for regime change and their out of domain activities.

Attack on old man just shows how holy cow consider itself a God and can't bear criticism

OMG from what I've seen this gentleman is very civilized and well spoken.

Absolutely evil act.

And no journalist deserves to be attacked, whether we agree with their views or not.
Attack, absolutely I agree. No one deserves that regardless of who they are.

However arrest is perfectly legitimate under the color of law. Not all journalists are above board. Many operate in very murky waters and it is fair to make a distinction. We should not give institutional cover to people. Just like we are holding Voldermort to account and reject that he can take cover under the institution, the same logic applies to journalists. Yes they all get a level of protection, freedom and discretion due to their occupation, but at the end of the day they too should be held responsible for their individual acts.

The level of external interactions, notations, order taking, comms with foreign intel assets, etc., and money trail, it is mind boggling. You'll be shocked if you knew how crazy this entire set up is, and is now completely out of control. Once again thanks to our SSG. During his years hundreds of people were sent abroad (yes hundreds) for training in foreign capitals paid by some western countries to "study" journalism. This was a huge red flag raised as a concern back then by our agencies, but quashed thanks to the love affair we were in. That is a gift that is paying in spades today. Things don't go bad in one swoop, their tentacles are years prior and engineered and thought through and executed over time.

A day will come where these generals will be made to pay for their crime. Their egotistical mindset about bloody civilians like they themselves are a higher being.

We need more people like Ayaz Amir, this man not only called Bajwa out but criticized khan as well. Hopefully Khan smartens up and aligns himself with people who have a vision.

Exactly.

There is a fine line between legitimate investigation under the law, and harrassement.

I absolutely do not condone what happened to Matiullah Jan or Asad Toor, no matter how much I differ from their views.

In a similar vein, I absolutely do not condone what is happening to Imran Riaz, even though he is a PTI supporter. Yet, I hate that guy to the core of my heart. He is nothing but a click bait sensationalist headline creator, who is posing as a journalist. He seldom has anything of substance. Same with Sabir Shakir, Moeed Pirzada, and Arshad Sharif even.

Someone tell me, why does Imran Riaz need to have a bullet proof vehicle?

No one's mentioning the fact that Ayaz Amir is an ex serviceman as well!

H ow they treat their own. Hopefully the ones at helm ordering all this are treated the same way once they become an ex too.
Lol

Ex service men are disposable cannon folder

They onpurpose kill soldier by sheer incompetence so they can run shaheed card

Best example is lack of MRAPs

Not in our life time.

Baghlol is very touchy when someone criticizes his real estate business or his extensions. You pay the price. It is time for IK to visit him personally and raise freedom of press issues in international media.

It is hard for me to comprehend how this real estate mafia reached the position it is in now. It is important to expose them to this type of people, or else the whole institution will pay a heavy price for it.

Bajwa has done irreversable damage to the image of PA, and now ISI dumber.1 Agency are attacking anyone and everyone who criticize them, what a bunch of pathetic losers, I bet they have smaller pe pe than Modi.

Now I believe they Quaid ambulance was really delayed, Liaqat was murdered by M.Sadiq, Fatima Jinnah was also shot, etc.. Thank you bajwa

Totally agree. It is so interesting to read the history such as below.

After the independence of Pakistan, Fatima Jinnah co-founded the Pakistan Women's Association which played an integral role in the settlement of the women migrants in the newly formed country. She remained the closest confidant of her brother until his death. After his death, Fatima was banned from addressing the nation until 1951; her 1951 radio address to the nation was heavily censored by the Liaquat administration. She wrote the book My Brother, in 1955 but it was only published 32 years later, in 1987, due to censorship by the establishment, who had accused Fatima of 'anti-nationalist material'. Even when published several pages from the book's manuscript were left out.

Jinnah came out of her self-imposed political retirement in 1965 to participate in the presidential election against military dictator Ayub Khan. She was backed by a consortium of political parties, and despite political rigging by the military, won two of Pakistan's largest cities, Karachi and Dhaka. The U.S. magazine, Time, while reporting on the 1965 election campaign, wrote that Jinnah faced attacks on her modesty and patriotism by Ayub Khan and his allies.

Jinnah died in Karachi on 9 July 1967. Her death is subject to controversy, as some reports have alleged that she died of unnatural causes. Her family members had demanded an inquiry, however the government blocked their request. She remains one of the most honoured leaders in Pakistan, with nearly half a million people attending her funeral in Karachi.

Her legacy is associated with her support for civil rights, her struggle in the Pakistan Movement and her devotion to her brother. Referred to as Māder-e Millat ("Mother of the Nation") and Khātūn-e Pākistān ("Lady of Pakistan"), many institutions and public spaces in Pakistan have been named in her honour.
