They are short sighted... A failing country ultimately means a failing society which mean it will also impact your family.

That is why the Pakistani politicians keep their family abroad... A failed pakistan will have no consequence on their family living in London.

1.) Many politicians have their families in Pakistan.

2.) The brain drain and general trend of going abroad for better opportunities/education is present in all families (i.e. generals, judges, etc.) There is a tiny minority of army kids (including those of Gens) who are joining the Fauj, for example.
