What's new

Joe Biden's oath on Jan 20 to affirm Pak-US ties

yes that is what i fear - whenever there is a recession, they start engaging in wars
sadly American recession in the past ended because of foreign wars. the yanks couldn't care less when spilling blood to feed their never ending hunger. if only they could grasp the concept each action has an equal reaction.

yes, they are the only country snce their inception that has perpetually been battling someone or the other. There is not a single year where there is no war they are engaged in.

Obama administration used to demand "do more" bcz our tribal belt region was an open, safe ground for non state actors to operate from & the int'l border was open for non state actors to crisscross + carry out terrorist activities on both sides hence the US demand back then "to do more"..
Things have changed a lot in last 4 years, new administration will not have to deal with a Pakistan whose tribal regions are safe heavens for ***** & open border for free movement.

Pakistan has cleared tribal belt from non state actors + border is already fenced so no more demands of "do more" like we used to see in the past under obama administration..

This administration (ex-vice president Joe biden under obama) will have to deal with a different Pakistan this time.. The only thing they'll ask us to do is exert pressure on Talibans but i guess that pressure demand will not work bcz the leadership is based in qatar, talibans hold talks there with the US, Afg leaders + last time when US-Taliban talks failed then they (talibans) sent team to Russia.. The point is Pakistan doesn't have that much of an influence on Talibans like before so the pressure thing wont work..

I expect a slightly better relations with US under Biden administration than the out going trump administration.. overall i dont see big changes & I'm also hoping that biden will be more vocal on Kashmir issue & possibly a sale of military hardware I.e Ah1z helicopters

Every democratic government in Pakistan is pro-IMF.

USA Policies won’t change much for Pakistan. We might get more soybeans.....
because every democratic govt overspends, more money that it has, when it bankrupts it goes to IMF, an institution designed to lend countries who no-one else will lend but to lend on strict protocols, so as IMF can back its money too.

this is because people dont ask questions, when we provide subsidy in thrid world country, the first question people ask is who will pay for it?

do we have similar questions asked when we essentially subsidize EVERYTHING BY SUBDIZING THE RUPEE ITSLEF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

regardless of internal politics within Pakistan, Pakistan is important for both USA and India. To USA to complete the Afghan engagement and to India to keep China distracted for a bit longer.

.
I think Pakistanis are being way too optimistic, Joe might be more sympathetic to Pakistan, but US policy overall prioritises its relations with China and India, as well as with China vis-à-vis India.

And democratic governments have historically been less helpful to us, it’s republican administrations where we get the most attention. With Trump you could at least curry favour through the Saudis and Jared, or directly with Trump and IK. I don’t see our relations getting better. In fact, if joe decides to slow down exit from Afghanistan, we could conceivably go from being important to the exist process back to hearing Obama-era ‘do more’ rhetoric.

It may however be indirectly good for Pakistan, Joe will likely re enter the JCPOA, and that may have some indirect benefits for us.
Indo-US real developments have been stagnant for a few years now, With Biden-Kamala, Indo-US relations might get worse. The Indian government is thin-skinned, and there is bound to reactions from the US on Kashmir/370/protests etc. which will sour relations. Indian foreign office will show short-sightedness and further damage relations.

.
Looking forward to it.

Will be interesting to see what US offers Pakistan.
Trade for economic maybe CSF issue will get resolve no Aid neither military nor financial. But help in Afghan peace process EDA stuff and some big ticket items. Mantra is Give us more trade opportunities and we will give business to Ur defence markets both make money

To expect something different from the old man Biden is nothing short of stupidity. Old dogs do not change. He will NOT CHANGE his policy towards Pakistan. There will be no good from out from the US towards Pakistan BUT ONLY WARS AND DESTRUCTION.

.
Great expectations from Government of Pakistan.

We should remember the government concert in New York where Mr. Niazi declared he has won Pakistan to the umpires and selectors.

The pro US pro IMF government has lots to gain from sleepy Joe

no, he's a full on globalist/internationalist, Biden.

no more 'America first' means easier access to H1-B people, more outsourcing, and continued defense deals with 'make in India' on the table.

we might get a few token statements, if at all , on Kashmir and 370 etc
