I don't think you can attribute the increase of BJP percentage to an increase of anti-Muslim sentiment. It can be equally argued that the increase was because of a desire of the Hindu electorate to give modi a crushing majority so that he could steamroll his way through a pile of economic redtape....One major story of the past decade has been a complete collapse of caste politics, and therefore consolidation of those votes under the BJP banner

It's just that government did a bait and siwtch in the past month or so and has squandered goodwill among a lot of Hindus..the problem could have been tackled in a much more sane manner with special high delegation,high stakes talk between Bengal and Assam

The bigger problem is an utter lack of oppsition and credible oppsition leaders..Mark my words...Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka and all the loony bunch that did rampant corruption are not coming back..It is upto Kanhaiya,Hardik,Umair Khalid to forge a new oppsition with a new sort of energy


May be some sort of nationalistic capitalism with a degree of socialist sentiment

Common mate... Was previous mandate not a crushing majority? May be the hindu electorate might have realized its mistake in the recent months but they overwhelmingly voted for BJP in 2019.

Indeed, the oppostion was weak. But if you look at votes, BJP candidates won overwhelming majority and even trumped opposition votes combined. The total votes of Congress+AAP in many consituencies were way less than BJP votes...

I do not have the capability to open the thread on religious minorities in Pakistan. If I do that, it will be a 24X7 work for me. If you want , I can open a thread on rural economic model based on my study. There are some revolutionary things which are happening in India which can be a rill model for rural development any where. recently, I am working on organic farming and animal husbandry. I am fed up with high paying corporate job. After finishing off some of my responsibilities, I want to quite that. Fortunately, I am working in an area having jungle, river, Dam, Wild life sanctuary, world heritage sites etc. The are is full of beauty and my work has expanded beyond my imagination. Today I have over 15 lakh Sq ft of land for farming. Which will cross 1 lakh Square Ft in next few months. I have stated here many times that Pakistan should adopt some organic farming models and make Pakistan a hub of Organic products. Pakistan should work on water conservation , farming , animal husbandry , tourism and textiles to generate huge employment. It can give Pakistani people quality food to eat and bring prosperity in rural area and improve food security.
