New Recruit
The new corvette will be a 2500 Ton class vessels, likely to be based on and modification of Damen's existing design. There are other contenders but Navy will likely continue the OPV program with the current modification. The sensor and weapon package will differ as per role.
We can have two indigenous designs one frigate based on or inspired from ADA/MILGEM and a destroyer on Type 54AP class.
Peeni chorro gay tu koi kaam ki baat pata chala gi..never heard such thing dear any source ?
This time it is good to be real ToT.. I have been very critical of PN in the past for not utilising the ToT it got from DCN, France for Agosta 90-B. But it seems this time they have learnt the lesson and got complete ToT with rights to produce, modify and hence export. It is sad to see endless ToT agreements, and then we still run to others for designing and building new ships.
Time to design and build our own ships throughout the range.
Half a dozen ? China is a 16 trillion dollars economy ( we are 0.3 ) has x200 times our coastline , and even now has only 1 tech demonstrator AC with only a few more to enter service in a couple of years,The name Jinnah class should have been reserved for when we go onto make our own aircraft carrier.
If our economy stands on her feet we will definitely need atleast half a dozen aircraft carriers in the next 50 years to project our power.
Bhai maybe you missed out on the next 50 years part.Half a dozen ? China is a 16 trillion dollars economy ( we are 0.3 ) has x200 times our coastline , and even now has only 1 tech demonstrator AC with only a few more to enter service in a couple of years,
Speaking to journalists , a PN official stated:never heard such thing dear any source ?
Bhai I'll be surprised if we touch the 2 trillion dollars mark in the next 50 yearsBhai maybe you missed out on the next 50 years part.
There are three ship programs in play:The new corvette will be a 2500 Ton class vessels, likely to be based on and modification of Damen's existing design. Plus new Subs in the pipeline Mashallah our Navy is making great strides. There are three ship programs in play:
4,000 ton - i.e., Type 054A/P.
2,300+ ton - i.e., the MILGEM, the first 3 will be based on the Ada Class design and the 4th the first Jinnah class frigate. In a separate interview the CNS said the PN could procure additional ships from the MILGEM, implying additional Jinnah class ships will come.
1,900 ton OPV, i.e., the Damen program. It seems there was a specific bid for 2 ships plus 2 options. The shortlist came down to the Damen OPV 1900 and Swiftships Swift Corvette - Damen won.
At least navy is not milking the country.Hi,
The JF17 was successful because Paf was using the most successful aircraft in the world---.
Pak navy was always handed 3rd rate equipment except for the submarines---.
So---basically---the pak navy input on Frigates would not be at the same level as that of the JF17---.
A battle ship and a fighter aircraft are two different things---where you make 300 of one class you needs are met but then otoh you make 4 of one class---6 of anpother class---10 of another class that fulfill; different needs and requirements---.
So---current scenario is the best---.
