These drone strikes can only keep the pot from boiling over.

We need the Pakistani Army to wipe them out.

But they are too busy playing "Risk" with the Indians.

These drone strikes are the reason why this situation is boiling and bursting out of control as long as these drone strike continues we will never have peace not USA will remain safe for long

So in other words Pakistan lacks the capability to re-take FATA.

Well the thing is Pakistan has a large and powerful military. We are no longer going to be in Afghanistan so the two things Pakistan should do is put a large troops presence in the Tribal areas. Do a massive ground incursion. You clear the area and hold it as long as possible. Put a large troops presence in the area. Second if the militant cross into Afghanistan launch ground incursions in Afghanistan like Turkey does against PKK militants in Northern Iraq. The next thing is building infrastructure in the area. the people want jobs and a better life. So you need to have large investment into the area. This will take a very long time but it needs to done. But first things first is a massive military operation,hold the area,and massive investment.

We have politicians and their extended families to support and the stuff about powerful military is just power horse puckey.

If I may, Pakistan could begin by first admitting to themselves that however well meaning their Islam-ism project may have been it is a failure and will not be pursued, it should 'out" the individuals involved and the organizations involved, in particular the source of their funding -- it should exert maximum effort at defeating Islamist ideas in the public - and of course it should embark on a massive campaign to identify, target and eliminate any individual,whether in Pakistan or elsewhere, involved in these activities.

With these actions it will not be necessary to go in large scale military anywhere, but it must be followed through with a new economic dispensation, one that free of the control of politicians and bureaucrats
