What's new

Jihadis flock to Pakistan from more diverse backgrounds

Sir, Check again whether Tribal areas are part of Pakistan or not and whether Pakistan government will Assert it's authority over all of Pakistan or whether it will cede territory to others, whoever these others may be?

Be fair, government, any government must employ coercion along with the delivery of services to gain acceptance and compliance - when the Pakistan government does both, it will have compliance - robbers do not accept the police, should the police then melt away?? The culture of lawlessness is hostile to the law - should the law then slither away?? Or should it assert itself and it's primacy?

It is because the people of the tribal areas do not assess that the govt of Pakistan will protect them that they accept these ****** lunes amongst them - demonstrate to them resolve to protect them and effective counter and punish the ******, you'll see a change of attitude among the ordinary general public.

I'm being fair Sir that's why I mention of their tradition the same traditions that feudal society carry in various parts of this Country so to an extent it doesn't matter what Government do or do not they won't give up on those very foundations of their existence and yeah thanks to the Government for everlasting negligence in matters of tribal areas indeed if we're to honestly evaluate and scrutinize the Government of Pakistan did Nothing for its People .. Pith-less actions, Pith-less decisions no matter what you start reading about last few decades it really stinks layer upon layer

Just patrol the border and continue cleaning up the place. Ban foreign entry into FATA.

Bonhomie:

If you have the time read some of the posts in the flwg thread:

Change is generally uncomfortable - and there are times when it is inevitable - "foundations of of their existence" not quite, it's time to give up this "noble savage" lies about the Pashtun, like anyone else thery want a better life for their children, not in the after life but this life, this one life.

But Muse Sir, again another inportant question is that inspite of Pakistan army and ISI is so powerful in its role, why the effect of Pakistan governance on these tribal region seems to be negligible? Why the judiciary and Police and Pakistan politcal system donot have much impact of these western areas of Pakistan? What is the perception and intention of you about this situation?

Why don't these people do jihad in their own country?

The Pakistani government needs to wake up and start keeping track foreign nationals in the country (Especially Uzbecks and central Asians)

I do not think Russia or even India would mind I think they have already provided you guys 10 MI-17 helicopters already (unarmed versions)

nope...
Pakistan got em by some third party...
we didnot got them fron Russia...
our COAS and Minister for 1st tym in history ever visited Russia just recently....
soo we dont buy any thing from russians now...
expect RD-93..
and India also have prob with that....
well maybe India didnot have bt Russians have prob bt not now...
well summary is that we didnot get those from Russia.
vt PA is intrested in Russian Helicopters...
it was mentioned by COAS on that visit...

just one simple answer. .
wadaira and sardars don't let Gov innn tribal reign...
and Gov has nothing tgere expect spending some money and building infrastructure soo its better for them to ignore these areas and fill up their accounts..

Only other day there was a thread about Pakistan being the hub of global Jihadis. Unless this is contained with all seriousness, Pakistan will be a free for all. There is nothing stopping these Jihadis from descending down from the Afghan borders to the inner cities.

That is a very likely scenario. Punjab is a future flare-point.

Because their govt does not let them.. And Pakistan is supposed to be the thekedaar of Islam in the world, so where else ;) ?

if borders can be guarded 24/7 on the indian side, why not the afghan side?

Not as easy as that. In the east the adversary is identifiable, not so in the west. They can mingle so easily with locals that one will be hard pressed even to make out friend from foe. In the west its not just the border that is permeable, but the society too.

Likely to be a classic insurgency situation. With constant hit and run attacks.

Gentleman has provided an excellent answer -- as to the imagined powerful Army and ISI, yawn, these are duffers, and extension of the feudals that Gentleman has highlighted -- look Pakistani soldiers are regularly lined up, skinned alive, beheaded, you name it, ever hear the leadership of either the armed forces of ISI say, "we gonna get yu sukka"? and actually get them?? They have golf courses to attend, free useless US equipment in return for giving the US free reign and giving the Indian heart burn.

For the feudals and look the govt of Pakistan is by for and of, these feudals, so long as they are not being targeted and they can make their money, all is good -- look at some of the stuff going on in Pakistan, stock market booming, commodity (read rural) living is large, urbanites and legal property owners running for cover, the have-not 9includes the police and their political patrons)
involved in robbing these same urbanites -- clearly, for some in Pakistan, life is good, I mean really good - "why do you rob banks"? "That's where the money is - why be in govt in Pakistan? That's where the money is

Actually the Durand Line has become for Pakistan what LOC was for India a few years back.. :)

I've only heard Indians say this.I'm glad you guys think so highly of us ;)

"Actions speak louder than words"
- fits best here to explain why no Pakistanis say this.
