Hi,

The 4 million dollars that you are spending extra on the european engine---you would be better off spending that on a bettwer EW package.
cant agree more on this ... avionics are the key in today's fighter ... furthermore, we can also spend more on linking it with link 17 so that thunder could become a real little monster ... with flying low and radar off taking advantage of low profile it can really come close to the adversary and have a deadly attack ...

As other member said they both have money and can spend it. When other reliable options are there then why buy this.
Because they whould have learn from their experience in Yemen that every aircraft have a different role ... JF17 is ideal for routine patrols and air defense role and very effective against low intensity war such as in Yemen whereas they can save big birds for bigger conflicts ...

Probably you are right ... but may be they got some smart guy out their ,,, KSA planning has improved in recent past ...

Hi mostly they want to put all their eggs in one basket e.g. USA
Recently they had a 105 billion dollar arms agreement with USA

You can check on the company's official website for thrust rating of M-88 and you will see that it is lower than that of RD-93 (whatever you choose to believe to be true, those stating wet thrust of RD-93 to be 98kN or those stating it to be 84kN) Same for EJ-200 since it is better if you believe that 84kN figure is correct and not so if 98kN is believed.

RD-33 has lower thrust. Gearbox change increased the thrust for RD-93. That's my understanding.

Well jf-17 fulfill our requirements as a backbone of PAF, does Pakistan have any plans to upgrade blk-1blk-2 with a median range Area redar,???, 2nd,how many squadron we need, (in total number), we also need a mediam and heavy weight aircraft, with long range, and of course heavy bomber, to attack deeply, I don't think j 31 have enough range, for an offensive role
