JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

can JF-17/AESA will able to to compete with Super Suchoi/AESA
And is JF-17 getting a new engine with block 3

plz give good argument

Su-30MKI is a very good and powerful fighter. But it has one Achilles heel, its massive RCS signature ... which on unofficial terms ... as information is available over internet ... is between 10 to 15 meter square ... the super sukhoi upgrade cannot dramatically reduce its RCS and that is one of the reasons FGFA is still pursued by India despite delays. That and how well the newer Russian BVRAAM will fare against the newer Chinese BVRAAM that the AESA equipped JF-17 will be carrying. Also how the EW suite on both of these aircrafts perform will also matter a lot.

To sum it up, It all depends on how well both the Super Sukhoi variant and JF-17 Block-III will perform in reality as they are inducted into service.

I think it is more likely that a new engine may not be powering the JF-17 Block-III. But this is just my opinion as no alternative engine is ready yet that is to the satisfaction of the PAF, and won't be ready till 2019. The prototype for Block-III needs to fly before that and waiting for the engine may further delay Block-III.

. . . . . . . . .
JAS 39 has the excessive oil exhaust above the aux power unit and jf has below so with wind spots on the body, never seen on F16

That's because JF17 engine is RD33 engine. This engine is often appear inadequate lean oxygen combustion phenomenon. So it looks dirty.

F16 and F15 engines don't need to waste gas.

whats does it states ? whats is AF2k

Translation ???

So F404 and F414 has same issue???

I think its APU/Jet fuel starters exhaust causing spots

Sir, with today's ever advancing technology, there aren't much "tactics" left. Its all Situational Awareness and Electronic CM's and EMJ. So the number of missiles a jet can carry with an AESA radar does matter as dedicated beams can steer various missiles.

Soon, in the next 3-5 years, having 6-8 BVR missiles minimum, wouldl become a standard AA configuration for even the smaller 4th gen jets upgraded with an AESA and MERs. Just watch how it plays out.

The USAF is even testing B1 types of an aircraft for a missile truck role, to support a few F-22's or F-35's from way behind where. Imagine that over 50 AMRAAM D's chasing after 30 SU-30's or J-11's, guided by like 4 F-22's and fired by 1 B1 Lancer.

Theoretically, you could take out over 100 interceptors in less then an hour and by only using one squadron of F-22's! Thanks
What is the RCS of a B1 Lancer?
What is its radar range?
What is the range of the missiles it carries?

Theoretically the combo B1-F22-F35 might works, but the questions above deal with reality..

Your posts amaze me. You write about every topic and so far, it appears that 90% of the time, you have no idea or expertise about that topic, and it shows up pretty darn clear from your posts. But you write with so much authority that it appears you were a part of the issue when it took place .

Looking at the bold part from your post, "Theoretically the combo B1-F22-F35 might work"...since when did the world's largest and most combat proven air-force (the USAF) needed "your" input to realize what can or can't happen theoretically or in reality? :hitwall:. The rest of the post isn't worth responding to as an individual's statement means nothing when compared to the most professional combat organization's ops tactics. Sorry.
