Scorpio just looks like a trainer
USA should bring back this baby

This puppy is one of my most favorite jets. When initially deployed in the USN, the speed and maneuverability was so much that pilots were restricted to fly is over 8.5 G's as LM and the leadership feared that extreme maneuvers might jeopardize the airframes structural integrity or loss of pilot control.
This beauty kept everyone over 200 miles away from the US carrier force with 6 simultaneous missile launching capacity. Miss this beast!!!

On the topic, does anyone has pics of JFT with multi-ejector racks showing dual sets of BVR's?

Hi,

There must be other reasons for delay in the production of BLK 2----and it is not about funding---.

yes of course, but i wouldn't call it a delay.
whenever new systems are installed, a lot of testing and certification is done and that takes time. They can't just upgrade the software and hardware over night and fly the aircraft.

That is a mock up of an L-15, which may have been exported to Egypt. There are also rumors that it may be co-produced with the Chinese in Egypt as the K-8E was.
bro it is dual seater

There are very pertinent and valid reasons for that. While it is being touted as a multirole aircraft (and it is a multirole aircraft) the primary focus of the JF 17 is air defence. Therefore all focus in developing tactics, weapons and even the logistics has been focused on air defence employment. That does not mean that the aircraft is/has not been cleared for accused in air to ground scenarios; rather that the focus of the aircraft is 70% in air defence for the time being. This is also evident in the the commonplace sight of the aircraft practising Air combat scenario's much more frequently as compared to air to ground. At this time(barring the F-16) the JF-17 is the only platform the PAF has which provides complete air combat capability in both the BVR(publicly known that is) and WVR arena and was built for that purpose. Hence, with the F-16 fleet working up it is also imperative that the Air Defence capability of the PAF is kept sharp throughout the timeline the aircraft is coming.

At this point, the rather lacklustre marketing effort is the fault of the PAF and the Chinese as well. The PAF wants to ensure that its JF-17 orders are met before anyone else gets them and the Chinese are trying to sell it like their next F-7. The PAF has firm orders for 150 and is now debating in light of the IAF's purchases whether to push it all the way to 300. Within that, there is pressure to fit in foreign orders but the PAF is adamant that it wants its orders and before anybody else. Let's be clear, that the only assembly-line (able to manufacture JF 17s on a large-scale) is in Kamra, Pakistan. The Chinese or rather CATIC has no room for a JF-17 line as they are currently absorbed with other projects. The slow rate initial production was due to this specific reason that the complex in Kamra was working up and till then JF-17s were built on a single jig in China.

Thank you for the detailed reply and most of the points are understood.
Will just like to mentioned a few things, first, since we have started the Blk2 production so understandably it will take some a more time and things will again begin to speed up as first few planes roll out. Initially there were reports that PAF is looking to start JF-17 production in three lines and set up an new line for overhaul and maintenance of other aircraft (we already are doing this but with JF-17 getting priority a new line had to be set up for this) don't know if that have materialized and don't think we will get to know for sure.

Regarding lack of action in ongoing operation, i understand that main role of JF-17 will be air defense duty and for that we are more focus in air to air battle configuration, evaluation and tactics. Still i do feel that even if as you said 30% role will be of air to ground duties, considering the time and opportunity we must have stepped up that a bit too and testes a few air to ground missiles and precession attack weapons. Off course we CANNOT conduct the first tests of a new weapon in battle filed, specially since the battle is taking place on our land (referring to what US have been doing in Afghanistan) but still if we can get a chance to use the weapons that have been given clearance it will be a good evaluation process. You will agree that testing in training mock ups is different then testing in actual war as you get to know the limits and capabilities better. It would have been appropriate if we could use some precession attach bombs, missiles, H2, H4 MAAR1 and even perhaps RAAD to check there actual battlefield accuracy and performance.

Well PAF is surely run by professionals so they know a lot much more then we do so there might be a solid reason for not doing what have been mentioned here by me but i do seriously hope that this is the case and it is not that we are missing on an opportunity.

No the very prominent front image nomi said is JF-17 but it has been proven that it is FTC-2000 Trainer. The second Model is L-15 and the far last one seems to be dual seat JF-17 model.

Sir ji,this is JFT.

L-15 has a completely different design with no DSI

No it is not JF-17 i posted the image from different angle.

Look at this Image and match it with the inlets of the image posted by nomi.

This is JF-17.

L-15 is much different,Just look at the model of L-15/air intakes

Hi,

There must be other reasons for delay in the production of BLK 2----and it is not about funding---.

Testing of newer, smarter weapons takes time. No need to rush. Better to integrate at the factory than to ask the squadrons to do their own evaluation and testing.
Dual BVR launchers seem to be on the horizon for the JF-17, so with 4 BVRs and 2 WVRs, it's a potent fighter.

Now this is the Dual Seat Model of jf-17 from paris airshow last year.Compare them now.they are exactly similar

Check the Inlets [modified with bump] I posted comparable image match them second check the specific Antenna FTC-2000G down the dorsal spine unlike JF-17, and last check out the double delta wing. The JF-17 only tail is visible in the image you are talking about.

So the first image is FTC-2000 besides it is L-15 and the last one is most likely JF-17 look at the tail part that is only visible.

Sir ji,Google it more or let us wait for someone else to confirm.

NOTE:The Dual seat variant of JF-17 does look like L-15 but the major difference in intakes and no DSI in l-15 are evident
