A lot is going on in terms of avionics integration and radar for jf-17 in Kamra. Remember that we have had a lot of experience of using, assembling and even manufacturing French avionics (both hardware and software) prior to jf-17's arrival. MAESTRO (also known as ROSE) upgrade program has helped us by leaps and bounds to our advance avionics manufacturing capability. We have done so many experiments on an imported aircraft i.e. Mirage. Expect even more on the jf-17. As Sir Murad gave a hint, "Radar is no longer the Chinese one".

so which radar paf going to use on JF 17 french one may it was from sagem or other radar

.
Two options.

One is manufactured by Thales of France

One is manufactured by Salex Galileo of Italy

.
One thing common in both options is that both radars were later upgraded with PAF's specifications. Thales one had 400 watt transmitter that was changed to 500 one and the Italian one was about 560 watt transmitter. Both have true multi target engagement capability and have long search ranges.

Italian one looks better too me is that same italian which we have on our F7PG

J-7PG are also using Grifo raders......Grifo S-7 will have modifications, it is being made specifically to foster towards requirements of JF-17 Thunder -keeping in mind these will be for PAF (if they opt for it), and perhaps future export prospects in the medium-long run

That would be the future radars or maybe even retrofits on previous ones but the first 42 aircrafts definitely have Chinese made radars, KLJ-1.

(Note that AFM mentions it as KLJ-1 but it could be a typo and actually be the KLJ-10)

In what is seen as an effort to counter India's efforts to participate in the development of fifth generation fighter aircraft with Russian Sukhoi company, Kamra, a compound based in Pakistan Pakistani Aviation of China, Chengdu and Space Foundation of China, last October and signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field the development of an advanced fighter characteristics hide-seat, single-engine fighter derived from the Thunder JF-17. Which are light multi-role fighter of the fourth generation, which is being developed at the present time between Pakistan and China. As a result, it is expected of the Pakistan Air Force) to get 100 fighter Jf-17 And intervention in service as of this year until 2014, and then will turn to get 150 fighter Jf-17 Ghost of the fifth-generation fighter is derived from the fourth-generation Current between 2015 and 2025. It is noted that two missiles had been their development in collaboration with the South African company Denel

The Type 1471 or KLJ-1, was the designation of the original radar developed as the first truly multimode radar in China. It was extensively tested for three years until declared operational to be used on board PLAAF's J-8 series of fighters. It had all standard air-air and many air-ground modes enabled. J-8 were also used to verify some avionics, fly by wire and weapon systems. It was a nriet (lab 14) product and was rivaled by a similar system produced by wuxi (lab 607). The former has expertise in making multimode pulse dopler radars where as the latter is more towards dedicated robust air to ground radars.

.
Western analysts compared this radar (KLJ-1) with the AN/APG-65 radar on board the early F-A18 hornet and appreciated the reliability and additional ground modes (including terrain following mode) of the system which were all absent in its russian counterpart (Zhuk 8) except air to ground ranging.

The only drawback was its size and a weak processor therefore when offered to PAF, it was rejected in favor of a more versatile and powerful radar. The KLJ-7. According to senior Chinese forum member, Crobato, the KLJ-7 in its current form is way ahead in terms of performance, modes and range than any APG-66 or even early APG-68 variants. This radar was a result of exhaustive efforts by Chinese engineers who fulfilled the initial requirement set by the PAF for a compact yet powerful radar system for jf-17 fighter.

As Sir Murad gave a hint, "Radar is no longer the Chinese one".

Not to challenge you but to clarify ... ... Where and when did he say that? I remember him saying the radar has better specifications than the ones on the KLJ-7 brochure. I don't remember him saying which country it was or was not from.

Thanks.

You will find more than one witnesses of Sir Murad's statement on this forum. He clearly stated that the radar is "no longer the Chinese one"
