Basically, the Qatari leader is inspecting a JF-17 at a base, he also looked at a PAC Mushaq trainer as well.

My speculation as to why the JFT3 is taking so long - PAF wants the best product that can meet the Rafale. A new engine would seriously help. I think PAF is hanging on the maturity of the Chinese engine and AESA, and because the Chinese are demanding too much money for largely untested equipment.

Dekhain Janab F-16 is a multirole medium aircraft while JF17 is a light multirole aircraft. F16 have much more powerful engine than JF17. They have to camparison in payload.

You can compare Thunder as early
block 15 A of F-16 similar configuration,harpoints and maneuverability.

RD-93 is sufficient engine, easy to maintain, no embargoed issues, low cost,reliable,Tailor made for the thunder and no spare parts issue....what else you need....In that limited budget.....

What a nice detail is that the Turkish flag on the Hurjet tail and the Pakistan flag on the JF-17 tail are next to each other.

JF-17, Gökbey, Hurjet and Turkish FX mockup are in the same photo frame. Very iconic photo. One of the most successful aviation program of our region and some new projects that follow its trail, on the backround.

Apart from the colors, Pakistani and Turkish flag look very similar
