JF-17 On The Path of F-16 Fighting Falcon

situation can be change dramatically with Jf's within few years .. but that highly depends on our economy , if you feed JF project with some $$$ , it can be the same beast as blk52 , but f-16 will still have the edge because of its battle proven record ...

there wont be any foreign orders of JFT for the next 7-10 years production line is booked
by the time it will be available to any foreign buyer more and next generation options will be available

Why are Indians commenting here when they have no information regarding F-16 or JF-17?
Stupid retards. This is a information thread, and here they come with their BS.

MODs, i request you delete their posts and only let the relevant posts stand.

The capacity of 2 crafts per year needs to be increased or the idea of outside sales can be shelved

JF17 is no F-16, but additional enhancements need to continue to close the gap.

can any one tell what is their real comparison in terms of combat radius.

F-16 reaches to their perfection after 10~15 years after their inception. JF-17 running in that path but question will remain when it will reach its destination or perfection whether this craft will relevant to emerging threat its going to face .its big step by a developing country in-spite of constrain resource so of course no doubt its worth full to praising .

JF-17 is a very potent fighter but the reality is that it has to go a long way before it becomes something like F-16. F-16 is possibly the best fighter ever built, it is still the bench mark against which every aircraft is measured.
JF-17 can definitely become something like F-16 but that would require time and more advancements.
Btw does anyone know when we will see block 2?

F16 was an incredible success story because it was awesome capability and state of the art and USA massive aero industry could support the buyer. With everything in amazing delivery time and reliability.

China would do well to sell 10% of what general dynamics sold in next decade.

Ask your self how many countries are buying chinease latest fighters ie j10 and jf17
.

I agree with your assessment about the Block 52 and the JFT. The -16's have set a standard for performance, durability, advance weapons systems and easy user interface for over 4 decades. Other follow it and try to match that. Which is why, you'll see almost every plane being measured against the -16's in some aspects. Unless you have heavy twin engine jets the size of -14, 15 or 18 (different class).

But to give credit to where it deserves, a Block 52 or 60 -16 costs what? Over $ 50-60 Million? So two block II JFT's means one -16 (higher end of course). Now if the block II JFT can come around 60-70% of an advanced -16 in terms of weapons loads, avionics, missiles they care fire, etc. I think its a great buy for a country like Pakistan. When they replace their current F-7's, obsolete Mirages, etc, they get such a big bang for the buck that they would otherwise never imagine. As far as the export option, I think if these planes can provide the PAF with a home grown advance solution that's much more advanced than what it could otherwise afford, that itself is pretty good. Exports of course will be icing on the cake.

I think 200 Block II or III JFT supported by 100-120 F-16's MLU + Block 52's and about 40-60 twin engines like J-11 or used F-15's (if the PAF can get them), is a HUGE force to mess with and can defend the airspace more than adequately.
