JF-17, not F-16, used in air combat: report

I heard he was credited with one kill by No. 9 squadron. Foreign reports or not....F-16s were used, and they flew more than JF-17s during that sortie. There were more Vipers launching from Sargodha during the time line.
Gents, very humbly, the less said the better. Let the other side guess what was used and what wasn't. Why are we in the habit of offering up information on a platter?

China is not more the backward of 70s-90s. People mindset need to change. China is country that build its own true global satellite position system and build supercomputer that is toe to toe with Americans. It somebody believes Russian who cannot even make a single 14nm chips processor but can build better fighter jet radar than China, needs to get their head check.
Analyzing market products is common practice. If anything better to learn ....yes everyone should go for it.

Surely IAF would know more about what took off to a large extent than you and I.

Very frankly, I don't care about what they know and don't know. Its just that Pakistanis have no business offering anything.

It isn't a secret to anybody who cares enough to look.

PAF released the name of the hero pilot, IAF found specific ordinance. Open...shut.

Sargodha air base squadron don't operate in North please understand this. The area of engagement come under Northern Air command.
I do understand. Incorrect about the area of engagement.

Just adding a bit on the details. The other side guesses are solidifying into facts.

Are there vipers in Nur Khan? Have been seeing armed vipers and thunders both land there. Didnt saw vipers since friday, thunders are every few hours now.

I find it interesting that a seasoned fighter pilot who has over 3,000hrs on the F-16, who has been to Red Flag & flew that ACM on last years flypast would end up flying the JF-17. He was with the No. 9 Squadron (Griffins) and now most probably an Instructor in the No. 5 Squadron (Falcons). The patch (below) is the one he now wears.

No. 5 Falcons Multi-role Squadron

Assuming PAF would not go behind enemy lines (India) and use it against them. Its already been mentioned that PAF can use the F-16's to defend the sovereignty of Pakistan. (If) the IAF entered Pakistan Airspace than it would be fair game for the F-16's to engage them.

When I said it was my opinion, I meant it because like everyone on this forum - I don't have all the details/facts.

Do I believe a JF-17 can take out a Mig-21 (Bison)? - Absolutely
Do I believe a JF-17 (Block II) can hold its own against a Mirage-2000? - Perhaps
Do I believe a JF-17 (Block II) can engage in a dogfight engage/takeout a Su-30MKi? - ...maybe if it were a Block III
The patch is more likely of No.29 Aggressors, EMLU

F16s weren't involved in the Bison shootdown, but do seem to have given BVR cover to the Thunders and Mirages.

Yeh, let them make an effort why to present in a platter. Our JF guys brought down a MiG and a SU (.). Let them justify, deny or whatever they want. Our guys proved and world has been shown on ground.

I have only one question - who is his father?

This is just an observation and I hope you will take the post in the spirit in which it has been written.
All forces personnel irrespective of their origin need to be respected. They are willing to shed blood in the name of their country and keep awake while most of us sleep easy. So whereas I am all for saying that PAF gave IAF a hiding par excellance we need to respect soldiers on both sides. He tried his best and luck or planning did not go his way. While under arrest he conducted himself with respect and dignity. He was dealt with by gentlemen who respected him and treated him well. He was returned to his loved ones with due grace and dignity. Long live this spirit of chivalry.
Of the 70 odd prisoners that came into the hand of the Muslims was the uncle of the Prophet SAW. The Prophet SAW did not like the fact that his uncle was in pain due to the tight shackles. So the shackles of ALL the prisoners were loosened. When it came to negotiating his release the Prophet asked his uncle how he is going to organize his ransom. The uncle said" I have nothing" . The Prophet SAW said "what about the money you and your wife under in such and such place in the darkness of the night". Abbas RA said "I bear witness that you are the Rasool of Allah as no one other than me and my wife know about this matter". He therefore paid the ransom and was released. The point here is we give clemency but stick to the rules.
