Idea was customer can opt for ew package based on their preference like f-16 and can order Turkish, Chinese or other lenardo, Indra etc

Many People missing the point about IRST. Pakistan will use ASELPOD for IRST purposes on JF-17. Just as Pakistan was using Sniper PODS as a substitute for IRST on F-16. Multiple people mentioned here, F-16 CAPS after 27 FEB skirimish were locking IAF jets through SNIPER POD IR sensors

A good cost saving method...but you are going to carry a targetting pod along with ew pod!

Ideally Pakistan needs 300 light-weight fighter aircraft and 200 medium-weight fighter aircraft. A total of 500 fighter aircraft with PAF is enough to detter IAF's 700 fighter aircraft fleet.

Now, the enitre light-weight requirement can be fulfilled by JF-17 Thunders with even the current Blocks while the medium-weight will require more F-16s until 200 PF-65 Sultan are built as a result of Project Azm.

PAF chief has numerous time stated the requirement of 400 fighters while india is looking at around 800 fighters (42sq)

Problem is you have gun on the other side..!
Remeber even the on paper MWF aka LCA2 has 8 hardpoints with 9 being the gun pod
