There was some confusion when this came out last year. This is not true at all. J-20's AESA unit is long ago selected and been deployed since introduction to PLAAF. The claim that KLJ-7A is considered for J-20 is from marketing at a show where the developer wants to include J-20's name into their product because one of the basis for their product is contending for J-20 maybe in future with side arrays. Side arrays are not that useful and require more power from engines which are now Al-31 and WS-10 based types. Maybe in future with WS-15 engine, we can use powerful new AESA unit with two side array.

So the marketing idea is to promote their smaller AESA unit for other fighters regardless which because the developer may have future chance to have one of their units in working onboard the future J-20.

My opinion is JF-17 III will use a Chinese AESA to fire PL-10 and PL-15 missiles. European radar will not be compatible with Chinese missiles. Unless Pakistan wants to buy Meteor and Mica or Magic, Iris-t whatever. I don't think NATO will allow so either stay using PL-12 and older missiles or use Chinese AESA with PL-10 and PL-15. Side array are useless and require more power from engine which already is weak point of JF-17. The selected radar should be a small and inexpensive AESA without side array and capable of firing newer missiles and smart weapons being developed in future for upgrades.

If not, what is the usage/ benefit of over compatible radar on it. OR just to milk the customers for overly priced fighter justifying the price with over compatible integration of components. The usual USA way to sell her items with higher price tag.

AESA radar are force multiplier system, their capabilities to detect, track and engage multiple targets could be useful to guide BVR missiles to the targets launched from legacy platforms (in terms of Radar technology or RCS measurements) from safer distance.

So in netcentric environment the capability of tracking and guiding additional missiles then number of missiles an F-22 or F-35 can carry relief the need to field all AESA based VLO platform in the air battle to some degree

Not brand new. We need Block 72s armed with AIM 120Ds

We might be able to get 2nd hand f16s fitted with Turkish avionics, Aesa radar, hmds, with usa missiles. If these are compatible. Block 72s or F16V seems out of our reach.

If Pakistan cannot afford V upgrade then rest assured that Turkish gadgets shall not be far less in cost from V upgrade avionics then we shall have to scrap whole fleet after few more years.

The system's electronic countermeasure capabilities allow it to confuse the signals that enable missiles to find planes and to deceive the missiles by sending signals showing the aircraft in different locations

Would love to know if PAC has our young talent working at CAC for Block 3 development in Chengdu, I imagine language would be bit of a barrier.

We need a critical mass of well trained and adept engineers, designers and technicians for Project Azm to truly take off.

We are entering Q4 of 2019, any indication the Block III will be revealed publicly, this year or early next year, from any open-sources? With the J-10CE HMCS picture, it is more confirmation that all sub-systems the PAF could want seem to have a Chinese option that matches anything the Western suppliers can offer.

Ergo, Unless there are integration issues or air frame design work, there doesn't seem to be any other reason the PAF would choose to build more Block II over building the Block III, considering it would in the future try to upgrade any Block I and II to the Block III standard.

In their latest article, @Quwa states that March 2020 is the unveiling date for block 3.
