Japan to sell off 100 f15j Eagles

Pakistan has an engine MRO for F-100 series, which is used by F-15.

We don't have any option.
Pakistan would need to build storage areas for fighters, it would need to build more airfields, it would need to make sure that it has enough places to store spare parts. It would need to build long term relations with suppliers of spare parts...etc.

It's a huge undertaking.

Also, Pakistan has other choices. It can go to Russia or China for similar class of fighters. It won't, because there is no point in it.

Inducting f15s or Sukhois is pointless right now, as Pakistan is looking to induct a next gen fighter, which would outclass such fighters. It doesn't have money to spare for stop gaps.

The best thing it can do and is doing right now is buying for thunders, and investing heavily in project Azm.

Honestly if Pak was a bit more technically advanced I would have been in favour of buying a couple of these for R&D.... would have come hella handy for Project Azm.
Bit more technically advanced.....lol.

Here is my thinking why I thought it would work for Pakistan Airforce

a) Price per Unit is Cheap negotiated around , 7 Million per plane , 1.1 Billion gets us 100 Units

b) We retire F7-PG , 3.75 Generation birds

c) We consolidate the Mirage Fleet to 80 birds

Future Fleet:
250 , JF-17 Thunders, Block I , Block II , Block III
80 F-16
100 F-15
80 Mirages

PAF will not go for air superiority fighters, the category that PAF prefers is multi role. Why does any fighter for sale on market (apart from F-16) has to be a candidate for PAF ? what factor about JF-17 and F-16 doesn't satisfy you ?

PAF converts all aircrafts, even trainers into A2G and A2A roles.

These will probably head back to US for spare parts, some might even be bought for cheap by SA and upgraded to F-15SA version, every other US ally is either buying brand new F-35s or F-16Vs, Japan also doesn't have good relations with South Korea. Pakistani people seem to forget you still need US approval to export their fighters to a third country, and they will most likely deny such export to Pakistan.

Japan plans to purchase nearly 150 F-35 fighter jets from the US

Japan’s potential buy of 100 more F-35s would have big international significance

Japan to order 100 more F-35 fighters from US

This will left China far behind in the race of air superiority. Japan with F 35 and India with Rafale will left chiCh decade behind with Chinese air force shall be left with shitty inventory J series of fighters.

Future Fleet:
250 , JF-17 Thunders, Block I , Block II , Block III
80 F-16
100 F-15 (Stationed fully at Coastal Cities)
80 Mirages

F100 Engine Overhaul Setup
F100 engine overhaul setup was established in 1989 as a Pratt and Whitney authorized facility for overhauling the F100 engines, modules and accessories. Over the years, F100 setup has acquired a number of capabilities for MRO of F100 engine.

Top of the list is the capability of upgrading the entire F100 engine from 200 to 220E configuration. In addition to that, PAC has developed the in-country capability to overhaul and upgrade HPT, FAN, Core, FDT, Gear Box and Augmentor modules enhancing their life from 1800 cycles to 4000 cycles. The quality of MRO on F100 engine is verified by comprehensive operational checks at the Test cell in line with the OEM dictates. Additionally, the F100 Project also has the facility to modify, upgrade and test the Jet Fuel Starters, Augmentor Actuators, Ignition Exciters, Fuel Nozzles and a number of other components of F100 Engine. The facility is “ ISO 9001 : 2008 & AS 9100 REV ‘C’ certified.

F-35 is inferior to J-20. F-35 compared to J-20 is F-16 compared to F-15. Just no match. Just no.

F-15 would fit well for Sea Patrols , or Coastal Area Protection

I think if we can introduce the Maintenance facility for F-15 platform
it would work out well.

Since Shenyang J-16 is not available to us , it makes F-15 next better option

F-15 Would pair up nicely vs Indian Mig 29 threat
Why J 16 is not avsilable?
