Japan to sell off 100 f15j Eagles

Pakistani logic

F16 is Bad
Uncle sam is bad
Lets replace old planes with more old planes
Lets buy f15 which is at its last legs
So uncle sam can use that to screw us over

A future prediction in Next decade Pakistan will add only thunders more than 200 + no other bird is coming beside 5th Gen so hold your horses people

Exactly. Going for anything less than a 5th gen fighter now would be criminal. Not a single penny should be wasted on anything. The enemy is already acquiring various aircraft which is a challenge in itself. This can be countered very effectively with a strong 5th gen platform. Brand new airframes and up to date technology. These F-15s are a liability.

The focus for PAF should be new block JF-17s and a 5th gen fighter. We shouldn’t underestimate the cost and workload associated with just these two projects. It will be massive.

Sanction applies to sales of US made jets from 3rd party too.

Enjoy

.
Sell them to Taiwan

You want to start a WW3 in East Asia?

Selling Eagles to Taiwan would mean Chinese would go full fledged in arming everyone who is even remotely against you in Latin America and Middle East.

And they don't even need to arm them with lethal offensive ones; given your military campaigns in their countries, they just need defensive ones such as AAAs and MANPADs and SAMs. That would pose a significant threat to a lot of your fancy assets deployed in these regions. Even prospective combat operations / strikes would be getting severely hampered.

Most likely Jordan or Morocco might buy these F-15Js. A safer bet.

It would probably go to a country which has no conflict with anyone.

Maybe Morocco or Switzerland.

LOL Morocco and Switzerland are not going to but 30+ year old rust buckets. They don’t need heavy air superiority rust buckets. They need a single engine easy to maintain fighter.

The few nations that already operate the F-15 are not going to buy obsolete airframes unless they are in very good condition.

It will be a tough task for Japan to rid themselves from these rust buckets.

Well US just has to order one of its NATO members to buy them, and they will.

I said Morocco since they are reasonably a mid-sized economy, a stable government and a US ally with almost minimal conflicts.

30 F-15s should be a reasonable size for them.

The US can’t order shit. No one will buy liability.

Morocco doesn’t have the money to buy expensive rust buckets. Morocco is not a US ally. They are being courted by the KSA as a good US ally, but Morocco is neutral at best.

30 F-15s means nothing numerically. It is a liability for any nation to have such outdated and out of shape airframes in ineffective numbers.

These F-15s are like a rusty and old Mercedes ready to be dumped at the scrapyard. They serve no real value.

Morocco was more interested in F-16s and smartly so.

As for Switzerland, they don’t require heavy air superiority fighters. They also don’t want rust buckets in bad shape. They need an agile and brand new airframes. They have the money to buy the best single engine fighter out there.

Realistically there are no buyers for these old airframes. Unless Japan can find some air force who is already operating F-15s and can can offer them at a very affordable price.

I suppose Israel, US and S. Korea could buy them and mothbal them for spares.

That is perhaps the only goal they can serve, but is Japan willing to sell them at dump prices? I think Japan wants to partly finance its F-35 acquisition through these F-15s.

They might not fetch much but from what I'm reading about wear and tear on those machines, Japanese forces will likely free up a lot of its maintenance budget. Any bit helps.
