So how much 'stuff' did China bought from the Soviet Union before its ignoble and spectacular collapse? How many foreign automobiles, especially the high-end luxury brands, are among China's wealthy elites? I can go on and on...

how many stuff the U.S stole from Europe and Nazi when they were at declining or total destruction phase? and how much money your parents paid to get you out of Vietnam? I guess there were all myth now``?
and what high-end luxury automobile brands were originated in the U.S?
old man, America $ucks at making good fun driven cars (European) or economical ones (Japanese)

You are far worse. You make personal attacks on anyone that is Chinese with claims that they are brainwashed and racist including me. "All you Chinese boys" ring a bell?

Like I said you are a self hating racist stay at home reject. No qualifications are needed to see that.

What? You thought just because I rebuffed him I would agree with you?LOL

As for life experience I know that people that have to prove their superiority on the internet are failures in real life.

LOL and you got over 4000 post congrats you are now a senior of Internet superior.

Stupidity beyond limits!!!!!!

Apparently you never got in or drove a Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, Dodge Charger.......These are just low/mid end cars.....

Its China that $ucks,Sucks at everything,U guys are nothing but bunch of thief....

And about US stealing.....PAl....We go in from the front gate and take what we want...........so fuk off..
We dont look for back doors.....

I'm sorry, I don't care much for the US Vs China spat going on but American cars do suck quite a lot. The three cars that you named are pretty sucky....the only appreciable cars the US has ever produced were the muscle cars in the 60s and 70s. Even then they were too big, too heavy and did not turn for squat. But they were fast in straight lines, did not break that easy and, at least to me, looked gorgeous. These are when the Mustang, Camaro, Charger, Challenger, Cuda, etc., etc. made their name and now their respective manufacturers are just trying to milk whatever remains in those names. Sadly the old formulas don't work anymore.

ps: The new Corvette is somewhat nice.

The illegitimate three-way child of a DB9, an X6 and an Evo X? :D I just don't get this american concept of chunky looking cars. But its not that bad looking. Looks are a small part of a car, lets see what it can do when it comes out.

And as far as the feelings and thoughts are concerned, of course you are, I wasn't contesting them. I was merely talking from the point of view of a petrol-head. For example, I drove a Suzuki FX for a year to Uni. I still love it to bits but the car sucks in truth.

Anyway, lets let the thread go its intended way now.

TOKYO (AP): Japan is looking to join the United States, China and Russia with a stealth fighter that senior Japanese air force officials say can be ready for a prototype test flight in just three years, significantly upping the ante in the intensifying battle for air superiority in the Pacific.

The prototype will likely be able to fly in 2014, Lt. Gen. Hideyuki Yoshioka, director of air systems development at Japan's Ministry of Defense, said in an interview with The Associated Press.

He said Japan has put 39 billion yen (473 million) into the project since 2009, after it became clear the United States was not likely to sell it the F-22 "Raptor" America's most advanced fighter jet because of a congressional export ban.

"We are two years into the project, and we are on schedule," Yoshioka said on Monday.

Yoshioka stressed that a successful test flight of the prototype, dubbed "Shinshin," or "Spirit," does not mean Japan will immediately start producing stealth aircraft. The prototype is designed to test advanced technologies, and if it is successful the government will decide in 2016 how to proceed.

Japan is feeling the pressure of a regional dogfight over fighter superiority.

"If the countries surrounding Japan have stealth capabilities, Japan will need to develop those capabilities itself to ensure our own defense," said Col. Yoshikazu Takizawa of the Defense Ministry's Technical Research and Development Institute.

Japan relies to a large degree for its defense on its alliance with the United States, which has a significant number of fighters and other aircraft, along with some 50,000 troops, stationed around the Japanese archipelago.

I think Japanese have expressed their concern of buying Rafale or Typhoon and may be this is due to replace the 80++ F-4s frp their fleet?

So is there any chance that US will going to sell them F-35? As we all are expecting to see the orders fo F-35 from Japan, Korea as well as Taiwan for replacing F-16s...

So what about acquiring F-35s from USA????

They wanted to acquire the F-22's from us, but Congress refused. This resulted in Japan beginning their own stealth fighter program.

The ATD-X demonstrator should be flying in 2014-2015, but don't expect it to resemble the full production type, which *should* start production in 2027, as the F-3 fighter. It's going to be a 1/3 scale size model of the full production type.

It's going to be very interesting to see what they churn out.

2027?

They'll make it much before that if they really want to remain out of the threat zone beside them.

But why did you refuse them the Raptor? Japanese are more American than you Americans since post WW2.

What danger can you face from them? They literally love you guys more than themselves.

.
They should do something with Turkey. Turkey also tries to develop fighter. Joint production would be amazing. Altiac brotherhood and cooperation will make many things possible.
