Japan, Philippines to Combat China’s Assertive Stance at Sea

Can Phil afford brand new gears? srsly, your gov doesn't have a good name in the world.

Really good keep underestimating us

Of course we love Taiwan, probably more than you will ever know. lol.

As you know, Japan and Taiwan had recently signed a maritime boundary pact, as well as an agreement of fisheries processes. The same was done between President Ma's Government and President Aquino's Government, which clarifies fishing boundaries between Taiwan and the Philippines. Understanding and communication is needed to prevent future instances like what happened last year and I am sure the Philippine Coast Guard will be more responsible in reiterating such unfortunate and uncalled interdiction maneuvers as what happened last year.

If you look at the agreement that was signed between some junior members of the Japanese Parliament and members of the Philippine Congress, it is a non-binding agreement that is an act of symbolism -- adjudicating the importance of the rule of law and peace in maritime border. The politicians met not acting on behalf of their parties and governments', but on a personal level -- which is a more touching symbolism as it communicates the shared concern of both nations and their respective citizens.

You very well know how much we Japanese are very fond of Taiwan, and the great respect , adoration we have for the country and the people. This will not change.

That is absolutely untrue. And the manner in how you project that message is totally unwarranted.

Ya after threating us with sanction and military force i wish my Govenment create a military base in bataan to protect our interest.

A small naval base in Batanes Islands sounds strategic to me, after all, Batanes is the most northernmost reach of Philippines' territory. This would serve for interoperability with military and maritime forces of Taiwan, People's Republic of China, Japan, the United States et al. Notwithstanding , this would be beneficial for command and control, as well as maritime interdiction duties for military and coast guard assets of the Philippines.

had i been against japan, i would have induced you to involve yourself in a sinister plan against china, i too can submit hundreds of china containment plans but the problem is every action produces equal reaction. rather i asked japan to exploit the current geopolitical situation and get free of the clutches. i always wanted to see japan rise as an independent power not as someone else's cannon fodder. but every time i find you planning something sinister against china, this is very disappointing and it too hurts me. the real friends of japan will never want to see any conflict between japan and china. both you guys are the future of east asia. yes i posted that geological stuff to remind you that japan's existence intersects that of china and vice versa. think think think, think deeper, think in terms of centuries, its not a question of anyone's personal ego, its a question of long term existence, we don't matter but the future of east asia does.

yes, and a friend of japan

Makes sense...

That is the Batanes group of islands which is located between Luzon and Taiwan while Bataan is a peninsula located on the west side of Luzon.

Salamat for the koreksyon, pasensya naman.

Okay lang, medyo nakakalito rin kasi ang Batanes at Bataan.

Anyways, establishing a naval base in Batanes would be possible, if we have the funds as currently, the PH Navy is focused in establishing a naval base somewhere in Palawan.

But i again the Taiwanese imperials my presure my government not too build and i would not love to see imperial vessels both nationalist and maoist on my country at all sir maybe the Japanese maritime defense forces yes but them never not an less the times changes but now i dont like to see them here they my be probing our defenses since we are upgrading our defenses or just act arrogant to chase our fisher folks out of our fishing grounds our EZZ or protect or in the Maoist imperials case chase our of our EZZ and fishing grounds and protect their countrymens illegal mining and contriband operations and now illegal workers staying in my country by threating to use force its already bad they stealing resources and islands even rocks and a warship presense i think its a bit too much of insult to the Philippines and the Filipino people. Both Imperials can not be trusted as of now with their current mind set it would be too dangerous for the Philippines to do so.
