Japan, and war with the developed world

Developed Nations: War must happen (if not who is going to fund our arm industry :usflag:), and the war will happen to those misbehave developing or third world country...

Sadly, that is the truth, which means that each country must try to find someone who shares the same issues and collaborate in order to not be driven to wars again. Malaysia has suffered because of NATO's aggression in Ukraine and even the downing of a commercial airliner. Some reports say that it was the US Navy that blew away the first vanishing of a B777.

But we don't know yet. I won't say americans did it, but it is possible, after what had happened with Iran.

A war between Japan and China would mean everything , everything our leaders worked for since the 1978 TOPF would be nill. The entire region would suffer great destruction, all progress made would be reversed, quantified.

I don't think you would want that, i don't want that, i don't want my children's generation to say, "how we wish we could have enjoyed the progress of our fathers' , grandfathers' generation"

Or for that matter, make West dominant again. That's what they want; Asia to fight against each other. Not being anti-west, but simply cautious.

In the last 24 hours, more reports of India-China enmity have emerged from Pentagon than the words spoken between President Xi and PM Modi.

No, Russiainfve lost large chunks of their land, as well, and have not taken all of them back. Crimea would not have been taken if NATO really had not charged into the doorsteps of Russia, literally aiming at crippling it. Only then, and with the civil war full blown in Ukraine, Russia took step and annexed Crimea.

The West almost forced Russians to take some action. Look how Russia leaves its only real ally in Middle East, Syria, at the wolves' table despite that it could have done much much more and without any real consequences other than maybe further sanctions and loss of (western) prestige.

Russia was in fact very eager to reset the relations with the US during Medvedev. US has single-handedly pushed the Russians away, not vice versa.

China, on the other, has taken back most of its historical lands, Taiwan being the last one that still has a sort of de facto separation from China, although it is politically crippled entirely. If half of the threats that Russia faced in Ukraine were applicable in China's case, you will see if China really cares about face or anything. It is strategic calculation, as your leaders know very well, and has nothing to do with face or prestige.

Prestige at the barrel of guns is what China believes. It is not by chance that China is the second largest military spender and runs world's most ambitious indigenous military development program.

Taiwan will be taken fully when the right time comes. It is definitely not "face" that stops China, but geopolitical realities. When the status quo is in your favor, you do not disturb it although you keep ready for contingencies.

To be honest Russia hasn't really lost much land. It has infact gained so much land by expanding/invading other countries land. If not how do you think Russia became by far the world largest country by land? They took the kuril islands from Japan which they still hold to this day. they also seize an enormous chunk of land from China the size of all western Europe in 'outer ' Manchuria and made/forced China give up Mongolia (don't know why they didn't annex it into their territory) . They also did the same with many eastern European countries, if you mean losing land by most eastern European countries gaining their independence from the fall of the U. S. S. R, then that's not really losing land per se. Since Russia was merely an invader after World War Two where they took the opportunity to control /invade/annex many eastern European country . Ask yourself did Russia get bigger or smaller after the second World War? and did China get bigger or much smaller after the second World War? Truth be told, China was/is the ONLY victorious P5 POWER who lost instead of gaining land/territory after the second World War.
