Jammu & Kashmir Gujjars seek PM’s intervention for Gujjar Regiment’ in the Army

We must remember that in every war against pakistan Gujjar and Bakarwal have helped Indian Army in whatever way they can.

1. They have guided Indian Army with local info, routes.

2. Supplied ration and materials etc. etc.

Latest example is the the Kargil where Gujjar and Bakarwal have provided the info about the infiltration from pakistan into India.

Gujjar and Bakarwal India owes you a lot, thank you brothers.

Didn't expect such comment from you. Like other Indians, Gujjars from JK are also Indians, so isn't it natural to help Indian Army? If they want Gujjar specific regiment, thats another matter.

My two cents:

a.) All of the Shia are with India, they don't like pakistan specially Sunni majority dominated and with rising radicalism.

b.) All of the Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists are with India.

c.) If Govt. of India accepts the demand of Gujjar and Bakarwal we will further get support of 20% of Jammu & Kashmir.

Hindu 29.63 % + Sikh 2.03 % + Buddhist 1.36 % + Gujjar 20% + pro India Kashmiri

In short, the 5-6 % foreign funded extremist can be further sidelined and taken care of.

Army has reservation of Muslims in army can't increase it......so a separate regiment not possible and manmohan singh cant do anything...

I am myself a Gujjar..! And i am from Delhi..! There are many Gujjars in Army Already..But we need our own regiment like Jats.rajputs and dograas..! This is a long standing demand of my Community! I hope PM will allow this..!

That's becasue Indian army top management still consider India as former Colony of their "high and pure" British masters and they have faith in intelligence of decisions taken by their previous masters.

Have a referendum, most Gujjar Muslims would chose Pakistan in a heartbeat.

The only Gujjars in The Gujjar Regiment in Indian Army would be Hindu and Sikh Gujjars.

Lets have referrendum in Quetta. 90% will choose to be part of Afghanistan.

Go to Azad Jammu and Kashmir you will mostly see Gujjars. before 1947 it was very common for a Gujjar Muslim from Punjab to marry a Gujjar Muslim from Kashmir. We are the same tribe, we follow our Religion the same way, and we would never chose Hindus over Muslims.

While Choudhry Rahmat Ali was a leading figure for the conception of Pakistan, he lived most of his adult life in England. He had been voicing his dissatisfaction with the creation of Pakistan ever since his arrival in Lahore on April 6, 1948. He was unhappy over a Smaller Pakistan than the one he had conceived in his 1933 pamphlet Now Or Never.[30]
After the creation of Pakistan he returned back to Pakistan in April 1948, planning to stay in this country, but he was ordered by the then Prime Minister Liaqat Ali Khan to leave the country. His belongings were confiscated, and he left empty-handed for England in October 1948 .
He died in February 1951 and was buried on 20 February at Newmarket Road Cemetery, Cambridge, UK. Emmanuel College's Master, who had been Rahmat Ali's Tutor, himself arranged the burial in Cambridge on 20 February 1951.

i really donot wannt to go under debate about why he was asked to live his own country,since i do not want to derail this thread but i guess this should not have happened with him and citizens of pakistan of that time should have supported him
