Its not on the basis of some silly theory. The British Indian Army had been in existence for 150 years and it wasn't thought well to break-up the prevalent structure. And how is it a tool for manipulation?

Yes , it was pure silly theory though concept of ethnic regiments had genuine tactical merit to it , and hence kept up in the indian army.

But about the theory ,Its pisscology pep talk for those loyal servants of the British to feel different from the rest of the natives and do their bidding whole heartily instead of joining native nemesis of the British.

Tell me who is martial ??

History both past and present suggest , so called marital armies feel home sick every time they forced to fight in an alien territory against the natives ,be it the Americans in the Vietnam, Indian army fighting Tamils of Jaffna ,or poor souls in CRPF fighting a tribal moaist .

Omar's post wasn't racist, because..

1. If Gujjar a race, there's no different between Hindu Gujjars and Muslim Gujjars
2. Pakistan and India was divided by religion (but in my POV OPPORTUNISM) and not by racism
3. What he said is written in Quran

Why should mods delete his post?

The gujjars of the subcontinet are descendants of the gurjar pratihars of western india.Whose greatest king was mihirbhoja of rajasthan.
The gurjar prathihar were originally descended from the white huns or indo hepthalites that broke into here after the decline of the gupta empire.
.The word gujarat means kingdom of the gujjaras or gujjar raj.
Just a tidbit from history.
I hope this new regiment is raised and posted in the NW border.All indians wishing to serve their country should be given oppurunity privded they are physically and mentally proved upto to the task of soldiering.
