I don't understand why Indian media keeps pushing new articles on how Pakistan is claiming Kashmir, or China is claiming "Arunuchal Pradesh". How is this news when it has been the consistent diplomatic position of Pakistan/China for the last half-century?

If you read the article, you would have realized that the Foreign Policy spokesperson was asked a question on Kashmir's status, and thus reiterated Pakistan's stance. Did you expect him to say that Pakistan withdrew its claim? You're being totally unreasonable and blinded by nationalism.

India wouldn't do that because it recognizes Chinese sovereignty over the Tibetan Plateau. If they did, it would be a complete break with India's past diplomatic stance, and I would indeed expect the media to pick up on it.

If a reporter asks our foreign minister about China's stance on South Tibet, he would of course state that China considers South Tibet part of its territory and that it disputes India's control. This is completely reasonable. What's unreasonable is that you don't think foreign ministry officials should affirm what stance the country they represent is taking, when that is their job.
