When you have something happy, you got to share with your brothers in the first time. Emotional behaviour but have to respect the rule in PDF. Period. Any way, thanks for moving it to the right place.

Najam. It means that an air force version is also being or will be developed for export. Because 31001 is a built for a naval configuration.
Yes, there is a good possibility of that.

If you remember correctly in 2010 and then in first half of 2011 some reports were published in Pakistani newspapers regarding a Pak-China joint venture project of Stealth fighter, people thought its some kind of lame reporting or mistake at publishers part. Now seeing J-31(or whatever is the name) with RD-93/WS-13 engines and "not a heavy" stealth design, one can think of it as a customized version for PAF...or a derivative of something similar undergoing development.

Plus, if Wanglaokan is right that (and everything happens as planned) then 2016/2017 could be a year when PAF can place order for them. But if this project faces problems and IOC gets delayed then J-10B (which will be very mature by then) will come back on table.

The happiest aspect is that this project means a lifeline for the JF-17 too [I call it the mosquito fighter] because, the J-31 and JF-17 will use exactly the same engine, exactly the same armament [Both Chinese and Pakistani with NO need to Import keeping in mind that we got TOT for MAR-1 -- Oopss :P], same tactical datalink, and perhaps the same air refueling mechanism too. Which means....... LOW operating costs !-- The more similarities we have between the JF-17 and the J-31, more the chances would be for PAF to acquire this air craft. Because it not only would be cheaper to buy than the J-20 but also far cheaper to operate.

Looks like a decent aircraft. Once its details are released then we can see how it compares with F-35. Its a double engine aircraft and therefore many air forces can't afford it. I think China will introduce a single engine version also to expand its export potential.

I hope Pakistan will get one or two squadrons of J-31 when it's ready
