I think the whole arjun line should be dump and use the money for something else like getting more T90s or other tanks. If India wants to build a tank, than it should be a joint venture to ensure its success.

But if the reason is that India has bad road and cannot handle Abrams, then I would agree with you. As for aircraft, the best fighter in USAF is F-22. If US offer to sell it to India, would India need to debate about it? I think you are just sour graping.

battle Tanks are not for Civil use, I do not know about america but here in India its not, its off road... And T-90 is good at it.... Well F-22 Is a good Aircraft, but at the same time hell too costly, even if you open that for us, there is no question of use buying it.... and As of Sour grapes, I dont need to, We are buying from our Allies...

So do you believe that LCA is also a failed project. It appears that LCA is going on the same tragectory as Arjun tanks. Except that its 3 years behind. I think in 3 years, we will have the same discussion about LCA.

But India is successful in other projects though. It just fails in the main battle tank and the main domestic fighter. And also failed in main infrantry rifle.

Sir, what is the point in being so pessimistic? When i read the thread the name of the thread, the first thing that came to my mind is how many people are going to go blah blah about how LCA will meet a similar fate.
Also the T 90 is a bloody good tank, it is perfectly suited for our needs. How can you say American tanks are better, i feel the Abrams and T90 are the same league. If you can prove otherwise you are welcome.

I can see faithfulguy's point no doubt that M1A2's are best but we aren't facing Leo 2 or Chall 2 so for us T90 is best suited with vast experience in Russian T series for us T90 was logical choice.

F-22 is without a doubt the best! The US will never agree to sell it , ever!! It is being hidden even from your closest allies.
And say even if US does, i doubt if it will be economically viable for India to purchase and maintain such an aircraft.
These are dreamland stories. Sam is smart enough to keep the best for itself! always!!! Anyways, this is all going hopelessly off topic!!

Last time I checked, tanks were for off-road purposes and not for road racing. There are armored vehicles and rocket equipped vehicles for that purpose. T90 suited our purpose, hence was selected. If in future France makes a great MBT, we will select that. It all about our preference.

As for F22, the whole world knows, its a good fighter but not a good package. Even USAF doesn't want more F22. The program is scraped. Why would India want that?

India is opting for the best package. Check out MRCA deal. Its got the best fighters. PakFa is another investment for India.
