US has offered us TOT on how to make bolts and nails.. our babus have decided to take that on there head..

If this is true and there is a so called "limited transfer of Tech" on engines like they are for the SH F/A 18......Prowler ....."limited cooperation on the AESA upto the level approved by the U.S government" in the MMRCA......then imho its the worst deal ever negotiated by the UPA.....Tejas is meant to be a critical component of our Air offense....this will put our war machine effectively at the mercy of U.S foreign policy.....:frown:

In that case why buy something which does not meet the critical requirement of a proven AESA radar and good Ground attack capabilities.
Dont start EF v/s SH...I can give tons of arguments against European birds (even though i prefer them..)..

Regarding your Kaveri issue. It was dead even if EJ was chosen.This has no future in LCA. And if they develop it and IT MEETS REQUIREMENTS then only it will be chosen for AMCA...

I dont think the decision is wrong as the news says that a decision was taken in meeting attended by IAF, DRDO, HAL, Navy, bla bla.... all taking decision together.....all these ppl are certainly more knowledgable and able than us as we are sitting on keyboards and they are sitting at their decision tables.....
why we doubt our leaders????

Just one point as we have certain years of technical and operational experience with the recent engine,,, dont know the exact name may be GEF404,,,, it would be easy to integrate F414 with LCA,,,also the engine maintenance, crew training and there could be n number of things which could be helpful...so keep your guns close to you and let the ppl in decision chair take decisions...

Kaveri is dead either way... only solution was Snecma.... I heard that DRDO tried to push this for competition but IAF vetoed it... so kaveri is dead there itself... As far as my knowledge is concerned the SCB we have is not that mature.. only EJ is having the most modern SCB and matured one...

Secondly if IAF knows AESA/Ground attack is not there .. it should have thrown that out in technical analysis stage... why dragging those poor souls to this end...

why are u guys so much excited,Rafael and typhoon have entered the shortlisting,there is only 5% of F-18 selection,as we know there cannot be any sanctions on French Rafael or Typhoon,and France gives Full TOT,even the Aesa radar..so India alsways needs TOT and i am sure as rafael is less expensive than euro and Full tot and no sanctions work,so Rafael will be selected...
and some guys says like slvery,and all those things,
are u out of ur mind...
IAF will selects the best aircraft....place of origin does'nt matter for iaf
then mod will will think of politics
so don't worry,wise decision will be made

Yeah IAF vetoed and it was correct in there part no doubt.. so it is irrelevant for them if GTRE has SCB or not.. All i will say is we have SCB but it is not something robust...

Top 3 concept is not there in IAF mind... they have there own test points and own rating... they tested the aircrafts according to it and gave the result to MoD... I guess they will form new strategy around it after MoD breaks the ice.. Strategy of using MMRCA toreplace Mig 21 is not longer there in the books as they know Tejas will reach the tunnel end one day when the first aircraft took to the skies.. :cheers:


Any ways i am not agains US especially F-18.. since F-18 and Rafael are the only 2 aircraft that could support our formidable MKI effectively.. while rest of them competes MKI in one way or the other...

All i am crying is we are bound to the pressures of US arm twisting :cry:

Why stop at 2...why not go for 3. SH,EF and RAFALE..???
That way we will be getting the best techs. available in world right now...

There I am with you..This govt. is comparatively easier for US to arm twist..And i am totally against these. However we should not forget that US has the best tech. available and they will throw their own tantrums in giving them..

I am ccompletely dissapointed, The RAFALE lobby group is disspointed.
I seriously dont know why DRDO went for GE, the only reason is DRDO already used GE...

Looks like IAF wwill now ask for EPE GE in MRCA for sure if they are ever going for F-18.
