I view people who bring about a Burqa ban in the same light as the MNS who want Valentines day banned and Ram Sene in Karnataka who wanted pubs shut down. A ban isn't a solution. Muslims who do agree that Burqa takes away a woman's fundamental right do promote girls fromtheir community to give up the Burqa. However for people who want to,there should be a choice.

Are you comparing a medical facemask worn during epidemics or disasters only to the Burqa? Seriously? I can't believe you'd be so obsessed with it. I've been to middle east countries and in countries like Dubai, Oman etc, even their local Arab girls toss the Burqa away once they are out of their homes. WTH do you think they do it for? Because they are forced to wear them.

Listen, those who advocate Burqa so fiercely should first try remaining covered from head to toe all day for a month in today's heat which is only rising as global warming increases. Then have it implemented on others.

The mask is worn by the wearer when they deem fit. There is no national 'emergency' announcement authorizing these masks.

Seriously? I can't believe you'd be so obsessed with it. I've been to middle east countries and in countries like Dubai, Oman etc, even their local Arab girls toss the Burqa away once they are out of their homes. WTH do you think they do it for? Because they are forced to wear them.

I am not 'advocating' wearing the burqa. I want the women involved to have the freedom to wear it or not. If the Arab girls don't want to wear them, they shouldn't. What on earth does that have to do with women who do want to wear it?

The decision should not be dictated by others. One way or another. The self-appointed guardians of dress codes and control freaks should find some other past time to relieve their obsessions.

True. Men readily accept modern/western clothes but they expect their women folk to stick to tradition even if that meant wearing Burqa in France or UK. Thats just double standard.
