Spot on. I observed the same, the more illiterate the person is the more conservative he is on religious matters and this applies to all religions.

No the Burqah is not the sign of backwardness and illiteracy, The forcing the women to wear them is a sign of backwardness and illiteracy. Women should feel free to have their choice not pushed to do it by their parents nor pushed NOT to do it by the government.

No you said those sorta burqa belong to Museum and no one wears them, and instead showed the photos of Saudi woman with face uncovered, which is not the case as can be seen in the other photos.

Besides as you said yourself, it not just about the 20 million Saudi Muslims. There are 1.4 Billion other Muslims, and that sorta Burqa is worn by many of them. Just getting rid of a net doesn't make one modern and the other one antique.

I am not trying to prove that Saudi Arabian women do not wear Hijab. No Saudi women wear Hijab BIG time but now they have more choice regarding it more choice than what people WANT to think.

The photos of those women with their face uncovered is becoming a common site now. do not bring me pics you get from google images or whatever if you write Islam in google images all you see is blood and destruction the same applies to many internet sources. This notion have been so injected to main stream media that it became like a given truth when it is nothing BUT the truth.

In India Burqa doesn't come alone it comes with don't talk to guys, don't step out of the house, no co-ed education, madarsa education, marry her off when she is 16 to any guy of parents' choice etc etc, so you don't exactly expect such a girl to live her life or become a rocket scientist, become progressive, stand on her feet. Burqa is the symbol of oppression and no-Burqa is the beginning
