Here is an even more important question. Does Iran have the ability to confront the U.S. directly after this? My answer is no.

On US mainland? No. Lucky for them there are all those US bases around it with thousands of troops put there to die for Israel. Also they control the Straits of Hormuz where most of the world's oil flows through. Creating problems at those straits is an excellent way to fight us assymetrically by attacking our economy.

Yeah there are bases around it. But that means Iran is nearby them as well. They willing to try that? And trying to control the Straits of Hormuz by blockading or mining it is pretty much challenging the U.S. directly because we won't stand for it. No doubt about it!
