Perhaps more similar to a leopard Tank but definitely not the Merkava.

Tanks are never suited for Urban Warfare - there are add ons on Merkava like the Active Protection System etc, though they are not going to protect it from a high threat environment. If you are busy protecting a tank, you've already lost the war.

Actually it can be useful used with infantry, which the SAA does very very badly

Al Qaeda always use their tanks as support for infantry which is the good thing to do
