Israel Aerospace teams with India’s Premier Explosives

IAI has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the company, which manufactures solid propellants for Indian missiles.Indian defense manufacturer Premier Explosives has reported to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in Mumbai that it has signed, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1) for exploring potential business opportunities.

Headquartered in Hyderabad, Premier Explosives designs, develops and manufactures solid propellants for Indian missiles such as the Akash and Astra. The company also operates a state-of-art chemical manufacturing facility of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) at Sriharikota and a solid fuel complex of advanced systems laboratory at Jagdalpur.

This latest collaboration comes as Israel and India tighten cooperation on defense projects. These projects include: joint Israeli-Indian development of the Barak 8 defense missile for protecting offshore gas rigs; a joint venture between Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. and India’s Kalyani Group to produce missile systems, remotely controlled weapons positions, and advanced systems for the protection of tanks and APCs; and cooperation between IAI and India’s Alpha Design Technologies on the production of mini-drones.

Most probably barak 8 Indian orders would have propellant made by premier explosives.

This company has a huge land bank based out of Hyderabad. Back in days about 10+ years back, they were in my portfolio along with Astra Microwave when we financed them..

They were so early days yet in a niche domain both of these companies are gems..

Premier Explosives is also operating and maintaining a Chemical Manufacturing facility of ISRO at Sriharikota and Solid Fuel Complex of Advanced Systems Laboratory at Jagdalpur.

From those days to today look at these companies grow from strength to strength.

IAI deal could be icing in the cake.

Very good development for our pvt sector.. Looks like slowly they are growing in size and stature along with capabilities

@Vauban MBDA should tie up with this company.. It makes propellants for astra as well as aakash.. They can very well support offsets in weapon deals of Rafale.. They are a very professional company and their chief AN Gupta is a visionary, technocrat and a self made man. Do check them out mate..they can be a far welcome addition along with may be BDL.

People would be surprised to know that in a whole financial year money from MOD trickles very less like peanuts during April to December and only during January to March they receive payments for their supplied orders done successfully. Such is the challenge that the whole working capital cycle goes kaput with strangely ratios so bad that you can't give them finances. But in front their major debtor being MOD, GOI the sovereign nature of such client makes it possible to especially structure and accommodate overdues which are dangerously in 60+ days and closer to 80 days but less than 90days.. Touch and go for NPA.

The working capital cycle itself is maddening as debtors being GOI goes like close to 270-350 days.. Your supply for order in April and payment comes in Feb-mar

From those days to today look at these companies grow from strength to strength.

People of Hyderabad may know one more company a hidden gem of DPSU by the name Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited or Midhani.. I had visited them when they were making products for ISRO specifically for PSLV and INSAT satellites. They make many materials for Indian missiles too.. Happen to see them again in action before chandrayaan.. A very good company.. That's one of the performing DPSU
