Point is this: what Iran stands to gain from its intervention in Syria?

Assad was offered life time presidency and guarantee of his life and his family in Syria also immediate cease of all terrorist attacks for several times since the beginning of the tragedy in Syria by some well known regional countries in return of just abandoning Iran ... no condition about democracy, human right or other issues that some blabbering constantly and put as their own agenda in Syria or as what they care ... just turning its back to Iran. why? what is their problem with Iran?
If Syria and Iraq plan was successful which was a part of a bigger plot we should have seen war first in Lebanon and then Iran, what Iran stands to gain from its intervention in Syria? our security and peace , instead of fighting our enemies in Tehran we would fight them in their homes ....

They were thinking that they can corner Israel from all angles based on eschatological narratives

Not logical, we helped Syria as we helped Iraq ... what we were thinking or whom did we want to circle by getting embroiled in the Iraq?
