The credibility of the writer is quite high. In a military commanded nation such as yours, civilian leaders and press standing up like this should be a matter of pride for you.

Dawn's stories about surgical strikes simply said they are printing statement of Pakistani leaders - they did not say they fact checked.

There is a difference between investigative reporting vs reporting. And especially in a country such as yours, you should be proud that even for a moment your civilian leaders and press stood up against the military command!

I read this guy had stranded across the border. what's so mysterious about this? A couple of weeks ago a Pakistani kid came across by mistake and was returned but since the Indian is a soldier or paramilitary, given current catch22 Pakistan is in, they decided to make a big thing out of it.

The fact you are convinced that the strikes were done, quite evidently points to where your preference lies.
And indeed there's difference in reporting as they say from horse's mouth and merely assuming and twisting facts.
For arguments sake, do you really think someone from PM Modi's cabinet would ask say RAW to stop sheltering the Baloch nationalist and then have the statement splattered across TOI.
If every attack in occupied Kashmir happens due to infiltration, personally i would say, the several hundred thousand IA is doing one lousy job there.

And what ever govt that may come and go in Colombo, Pak/SL ties remain strong, Nothing will change that fact least not Indian propaganda or their hysterical media

Look I don't want to argue and if you are Pakistani, certainly you will know a lot more about Pakistan than I will. There are certain types of media hype that one has to discount as you say - but this one clearly smacks of post-fix by your military. You have the newspaper publicly saying 'yes the PM's office denied it but we still standby our report'. Obviously your military is trying to figure out who from that meeting leaked such frank conversation. And the only way they can do that is by making dawn reveal its source. All this Dawn also knows - yet it is saying they stand by their report.

If you still think it is me throwing mud on Pakistan, let me just say what I have already said twice elsewhere in this website: this is a moment of rare pride for Pakistan when its media can stand up like this. That is not throwing mud, that is a compliment

you should not compare India to Pakistan, Indian PM to Pak PM, Indian military to Pak military. That would be a very fundamental mistake that should be obvious. Why? because Pakistan's military dictates all policy where Indian military answers to the civilian government. Nawas Sherieff cannot dismiss Raheel Sherieff. Indian PM can dismiss Indian military chief. Pakistani ISI is part if and/or reports into the military. Indian RAW reports into the PMO.

As to my preference - no secret here. My preference is that all terrorism and terrorists be wiped out so that both countries can live in peace. It is my considered conclusion over years that Pakistani military is the main impediment in achieving this due to their nexus with terorrist organizations.

Looked that way, you can how easy it is for to believe the Dawn report where the civilians tell the ISI chief to toyr the provinces and control the branches there from supporting terrorists.
