There is no denying Islamophobia exists, but muslims them selves are not doing much to help themselves to get rid of this Islam bashing.

1. When any sucide bomber before going out to kill innocent people makes video in which he makes an excuse of Killing people for Islam, and he signs of with "Allah Ho akbar " - any one seeing these kind of videos will directly co-relate his voilent action to Islam.

2. There are Nut cases who propoud about converting whole of United Kigdom into Islam and they want Sharia laws to be implemented in the UK (Eg. Anju Chowdhary and the Mullah with the cooked Hook )

3. These guys staying in the UK Call for the Death of the British soilders and still think that people should not hate them.

4. Making a scene of prayers on the streets of London, There is no dearth of mosques in London. They just want to showoff and piss on other people.

Who is to blame for this kind of action.

All the above kind of actions makes the other people be scared of Islam and Islamists.

1. Muslim Scholars across various schools of thoughts have condemned repeatedly time and again and have categorically stated that suicide bombing is haram/forbidden. This also includes scholars from the much maligned wahabbi school of thought in Saudi Arabia.

2. Anjum Choudary and the like talk about politcal Islam and have nothing to with true Islamic teachings. You will find that majority of muslims in the UK (and abroad) abhor a politcal Islamic ideology. Moreover it is against the Quranic and scriptural basis.

3. If they are using street space without permission for the local council, it should not be allowed and I would say that is wrong. But it is most likely they might have permission from the local council authorities, like it happens in India as well just for Fridays for an hour or so. The alternative is to build bigger mosques which people don't seem to like either and would be a waste since the bigger crowds are there only on Fridays.

No one is excusing the muslims themselves here. Like I said we should be ready to accept to take a bigger portion of the blame for deviating form the correct Islamic path. But at the same time, the media is a powerful tool particularly in the hands of those who want to get high TRP ratings. A fanatic crazy muslim shouting apocalypse like Anjum Choudary makes better TV ratings than a calm and composed but much more knowledgeable Maulana Wahiduddin Khan for example.

But the good newsportals do follow stories and potray accurate information. For example, the Hindu in India is one of the most reputed newspapers and it reported quite frequently on King Abdullah's initiative on creating an interfaith dialouge not just among Jews and Christians but also Hindus, Sikhs and Buddists

That's all well and true but this is one of the problems of a majority of muslims today. Pointing fingers at others and not looking at one's own self.

We are at fault too. We are doing nothing to stop our own people from committing atrocities. We need to get educated and stop with the "RAW MOSSAD CIA are out to get us!!!" mentality.

I, for one, am not defending "Islamophobia". Instead, my points are:

(1) The term is used too often to try to stifle legitimate criticism or to try to win a debate by maligning the people and arguments on the "other side".

(2) The only reason we are having incidents of "Islamophobia" is because Islamic terrorism has frightened non-believers (and believers as well, for that matter). When you frighten groups of humans, they behave by categorizing and minimizing the threat.

Finally, I would bet that many, many Muslims in places where Islamic groups are attacking "moderate" Muslim beliefs and practices, that the attacked Muslims also "profile" the attackers. That is, that they practice "Fundophobia" on their fellow Muslims.
