Isil Islam’s enemy No.1, Saudi Grand Mufti says

He made a religious Bigotry remark by condemning ISIS? Or is everything he says is automatically bigot because he is "Saudi"?
You are aware that (coincidence ofcourse) KSA has been involved in charitable funding to a surprising number of mosques that have been found to preach hatred?

Yes I am aware that KSA took the western side during the cold war hence the funding, if you want further explanation on the subject please do ask because I don't want to write a wall of text that will just be ignored.

Please explain yourself because that statement seemed a non-sequitur to me.

Isil Islam’s enemy No.1, Saudi Grand Mufti says

Country’s highest religious authority holds that extremist and militant ideas and terrorism have no place in the faith

Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Shaikh Abdul Aziz Al Shaikh, the highest religious authority in the country, said on Tuesday that the militant groups Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and Al Qaida were “enemy number one of Islam” and not in any way part of the faith.

Although Al Shaikh and other senior Saudi clerics have condemned Isil, Al Qaida and other militant groups before, the timing of Al Shaikh’s statement is significant given the gains made by militants in Iraq.

Extremist and militant ideas and terrorism which spread decay on Earth, destroying human civilisation, are not in any way part of Islam, but are enemy number one of Islam, and Muslims are their first victims,” he said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.

He later compared them to the Kharijite movement in early Islam, which assassinated the Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) son-in-law Ali for making compromises to a rival Muslim faction, and has been seen as heretical by most Muslim sects.

Saudi Arabia sees Islamist militants, who have staged attacks in the kingdom last decade, as posing a threat to its own stability. Thousands of young Saudis are believed to have travelled to Syria and Iraq to join rebel and militant groups, heightening domestic security concerns.

Saudi Arabia labelled Isil, Al Qaida, Nusra Front and other groups as “terrorist” organisations in March and set out long prison terms for offering them public support or giving them moral or material aid.

Early this month, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz made a speech attacking militant groups using religious justifications for their actions, and urged Muslim scholars and leaders to help mould public opinion against such groups.

The important point to understand is that in the recent murder of James Foley, ISIL / ISIS / IS used the fatwa of Shaikh Uthaimeen. His fatwa that it is allowed to kill women and children and innocents to terrorize the enemy is well known among the extremists.

Shaikh Uthaimeen is held in high regards by the current salafi madkhali scholars in Saudi Arabia including its Grand Mufti, who is a Salafi

All such fatwas must be condemned by the Saudi Salafi religious establishment and they must make it clear that they are not politically motivated.

I concur, yet the house of Saud is responsible for the rise of ISIS khawarij because although the Khawarij's propaganda is deceptive but its using something True, Al Saud's betrayal of this ummah, which is pushing the Youth of this ummah to ISIS as a way to bring back Islam to rule the world, the Al Sauds committed great betrayals in Iraq in 1990 n 2003 and Syria and Egypt and before that Palestine, if a good blessed leader leads Saudi Arabia Now, he can fix all the problem, Rise the Flag of Jihad against the true enemies Khawarij and the Jews .

the key of salvation for muslims is the fall of the Saaudi Regime which will happen as promised by Mohammed Salla Allahu Aleihi wa Sallam

But the Saud House is Salafi, who are a minority among Muslims. ISIS is also Salafi. The vast majority of Muslims are independent of both of them as they follow Sunni Schools, and have nothing to with this internal Salafi quarrel.

Please explain yourself because that statement seemed a non-sequitur to me.

And explain I shall:

During the Cold War and the rise of Arab nationalism supported by the Soviet Union (Egypt, South Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Libya and Algeria), They actively sought to to spread communism and socialist ideals to all neighbouring countries for which KSA and a few other countries would have none of it and thus they allied themselves with the Western Bloc effectively splitting the Arab World in half, eastern and western, during 1971-1973 the soviet union directly supported large scale efforts to bring down the government in the western block countries, (Yemen civil war, Egyptian failed invasion of southern Saudi Arabia, Jordanian Black September Incident etc.) and that demanded very close relation with the western block during that time (Hence the whole idiotic western slave mentality that has risen up during that period the remnants of which you see here everyday in the forum, for which the reality was nothing but an alliance of necessity). The alliance with the western counterparts guaranteed these nations survival from a relentless onslaught during that period which is generally considerd a taboo to discuss hence why it is extremely not mentioned anywhere except for people who try and find them, after all trying to bury the memories of severe inter-Arab infighting is important to bring harmony and stave off nationalists.

When the soviet union invaded Afghanistan, the western bloc because that is why it is called a Cold War tried their best to make things hard for the soviets, Saudi Arabia was by then an integral part of the Western Bloc (Notice the bulk of US weaponry came after the beginning of the 70s crisis) so as part of a global western bloc effort KSA assisted in destabilizing the soviet invasion of Afghanistan by creating hatred and recruitment zones for Jihadists against the soviet union using religion as a means to do so, it was in no way an act to try and spread a sect or anything of the matter, it is as all things are in the world scene a political and to a certain degree a military move on the part of KSA, and to a certain degree this tactic worked, the western bloc prevailed in Afghanistan, at the time it did not matter the means only the result, however these mosques and schools built as recruitment zones were abandoned by KSA as they have already served their purpose, the idea propagated still remains, feeling betrayed the brain washed recruits first turned their eyes to KSA and thus begun the 1990s string of terrorist attacks on Saudi Arabia, culminating in the 9/11 attacks, to which while to the western world was the start of terrorist attacks, it was the end for the Saudi one, as attention shifted and a more forceful approach undertaken to tackle the problem.

So I say, while the method use to counter the Soviets was extremely wrong and quite honestly a huge mistake, dishing the entire blame on Saudi Arabia is just moronic and ignorant, when in fact the entire western bloc helped create this monster a long time ago, to claim that Saudi Arabia is supporting the same people that call for the eradication of monarchs for a Khalifah is even more moronic and ignorant. We only played our part in a large scheme, nothing more and nothing less.

Saudi mufti calls on Muslims to fight Isil
Says the ‘evil’ militant group is jealous of balanced Saudi policy

Saudi Grand Mufti Shaikh Abdul Aziz Al Shaikh has urged fighting members of the Islamic State for Iraq and and the Levant (Isil), saying they are aggressors who abuse people’s lives, possessions and honour.

“This group is wrong, not right, and if they fight Muslims, it is the duty of Muslims to fight them back to ward off their evil and keep it away from religion and people,” the Grand Mufti said. “They are evil and they have been killing people in a horribly gruesome manner. Through their macabre and repugnant acts, they have tarnished the image of Islam,” he said as he answered a question on the religious significance of taking up arms against the movement, Saudi daily Al Eqtisadiya reported on Sunday.

The Grand Mufti warned all people, particularly youth, from heeding the calls issued by the group.

“Anyone who incites you to hate your country or to target your people and leaders is cheating you and wants to debase you, not to help you,” he said.

Shaikh Abdul Aziz said that young Saudi men were particularly targeted as part of a ploy to destablise the kingdom.

“When they saw that the country was secure and at peace and had a balanced interior and foreign policy, they became so jealous that they wanted to undermine its security and stability. They thought that having enemies within the state was more important than having them from abroad, so they started their evil schemes,” he said. “We need to protect our youth as well as their minds from evil corruption and blight that no Muslim would tolerate,” he said.

Saudi Arabia religious figures have been speaking openly against the extremist movement, warning young men from joining it.

Last month, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz urged Muslim leaders and scholars to confront the extremist groups and ideologies attempting to hijack Islam.

Religious scholars have to work harder to combat extremist interpretations of Islam and to carry out their duties to promote genuine Islam, he said.

The king in February issued a decree to jail any Saudi who fights abroad or joins a terrorist group for up to 20 years.

UAE calls upon scholars to speak out against extremism

General Shaikh Mohammed said Al Azhar has been playing a tremendous, commendable role in maintaining the tolerant message of Islam.

General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has commended the academic, cultural and civilisational role of Al Azhar Al Sharif in the Islamic world over centuries.

Gen Shaikh Mohammed said Al Azhar has been playing a tremendous, commendable role in maintaining the tolerant message of Islam and promoting its fine principles of moderation, tolerance, goodness and peace.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi made his remarks during a visit to Al Azhar in Cairo where he was welcomed by the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayeb, and a number of senior scholars.

Gen Shaikh Mohammed said: “We are glad to be in one of Islam’s forts and a minaret of science and civilisation to express our profound appreciation and respect for the message of this grand institution in promoting the tolerant image and teachings of Islam and its role in preserving Egypt’s national fabric as a united and coherent entity as well as its honourable role and stand against deviated ideas, extremists and fanatic trends.”

Gen Shaikh Mohammed stressed the vital role of scholars in speaking out against misconceptions and ideas that distort the truth about religion and in correcting wrong beliefs that contradict the tolerance and spirit of Islam, emphasising that it is a core responsibility and top priority for scholars, especially at a time when solidarity is needed among Arabs and unity among Muslims.

Gen Shaikh Mohammed also expressed appreciation for other Islamic and academic institutions which stand as a staunch defence line against violence, extremism and terrorism, preaching the true message of Islam for peace, safety and building of man and nations, abhorring destructive ideas and misleading sabotaging slogans which target tolerance of Islam and stability of “our Arab and Muslim countries.”

Are you sure Islamic State is following Salafi thought ?
