Is Pakistan sinking?

Facts speak louder than eloquence.
China collapse theory is popular in the western world as early as in the 1990s,China has not only withstood the pressure of the peaceful evolution of western, and constantly improve the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, to further promote the reform and opening up process, Western "China collapse theory" had to shift the focus of economic, start bad-mouthing the Chinese economy and financial markets. but result? 2008 financial crisis, where they occur? China?
Rainbow is always after the storm. Pakistan's future will be better.
:pakistan: come on

Is Pakistan sinking? is that even a question, its not a future prediction where someone says "if you continue with such and such policies you will be in trouble in the future". But in Pakistan's case its already happening at the present moment.

There is a long list of failing states or failed ones, and Pakistan is on the brink.

Many people had predicted that if it continues with its policies it will be in trouble - that trouble is currently happening, the few things keeping it afloat and on the brink is foreign remunerations and aid.

Thank you very much for sharing. However, these predictions have been made since August 14, 1947, the birth day of the nation.

It pleases the enemies of my country no end when one of our own, with the defeatist, cynical mind writes a column like this in a national daily. However, for me, Pakistan's trajectory is upwards because when new nations go through so much turbulence and chaos, the result is total destruction, which hasn't happened yet or moral, social and economic ascendance which we might possibly see.

So thank you again for sharing a cynical article. Most of these articles are written in english by our chattering classes which also gives the idea of the standard of education the educated class in Pakistan has.

Damn! These people only started predicting the collapse of PRC in 1949. You guys beat us by 2 years!:yahoo:

This has been speculated on for years, if not decades. Pakistan thorugh this has proven to be a very resilient country, in one form or another Pakistan will linger on.

I have never come across a country that just died out ( i chuckle when i read those long live X country chants).

When they write these articles they are speaking of it not turning into a failed state vs. the country does not linger or collapses/dies out.

The last I heard, scientists were claiming Bangladesh will literally be under water by 2050 due to climate change, stuff. :fie:

China rocks india shocked :D

Horribly timed article. Why now when we are about to have an election and when despite the socio economic and other issues our stock market is still one of the most profitable (and we survived a global recession)

Maybe would've "sold" better to its "intended audience" in 2009/10

In fact Pakistan in many ways is more robust and stronger now than ever before and it will never sink or fall - despite the dreams of our enemy(s)

Our stock market is rising because of the fact that there is no questioning about the source of funds, so it is being used as a conduit for whitening illegal money.

No one wants pakistan to sink, Infact we want you to prosper beyond imaginations, because if you sink, no one will be able to control your debris and unfortunately we are at the closest proximity.

one form or the other???

A study should be conducted to come up with estimate on the worth of the informal economy

one form or the other???

Yes, in one form or another! Whether it be under civilian govt, military dictatorship, whether it be as a peaceful and prosperous nation or as a chaotic, imploding and strife torn land.

I can't remeber who said it-"Pakistan has the ability to be the Singapore of S.Asia, but right now it more resembles Somalia."

Tragic.

Got to give it to you to find some obscure akin to an unaccredited school aka the standing of your stock market as a beacon of hope. So tell us how many of your citizenry are " stock purchasers" enjoying this ? Stock markets are not even true indicators of our economy and we have a majority or near of Americans vested in it
