Is it true, the highest ratio of officers down during ongoing operations in Pak army

We’ve had higher ratios during WoT, 2009 and 2014, but without a major active OP, yes, this is likely the highest ratio.

I wonder where all those Pakistanis are now who celebrated the American exit from Afghanistan and the Taliban takeover, the ones who thought all the people who were warning about the true intentions and nature of the Taliban were just American stooges. And where are the generals and political decision makers who thought it was a good idea to support the Taliban take over. What made us think we could control the Taliban when USSR and USA (or rather all of NATO) couldn’t? The Taliban used Pakistan’s support to take over and fooled us all into thinking they’d be on our side afterwards, and the entire Pakistani establishment fell for it hook, line and sinker. This is the state of the Pakistani leadership, so should we be surprised we’re losing this many men?

Seeing that chart and who was in power tells a different story. Imran Khan, for his faults, wanted to sort things out, and he stated this conflict can't be won by fighting, or you'll be killing each other till the last man. During his reign, you see significantly fewer attacks than before and after.

So the better question would be, who decided to screw up afterward and couldn't stay on track to normalize things with your neighbor?

I shouldn’t have to point this out, but that wasn’t an Anti-IK post. It was a very collective failure, many people had the right idea and many people had the wrong idea within the same government and establishment, some of the blame definitely falls on IK too, that being said, his presence or absence in the long run has had little to do with the uptick in terror, it would have happened regardless, the afghan Taliban were no more keen to listen to him than they are to our current leadership, they were never sincere, IK or otherwise. Though I do honestly feel IK would have handled this current scenario better than our current leadership is (which is a very low bar to cross given how useless they are).

The departure of NATO forces from Afghanistan was perhaps the second worst thing to ever happen to Afghanistan and Pakistans internal security, second only to their arrival in the first place.

Imran Khan is an even more naive than the mil-establishment that trusted the Taliban, he would have been fooled harder in any talks he had.

This man literally suggested to fully open the borders and not build any security facilities at the border. Dude lives in a different world.

Establishment started believing its own propaganda that it was feeding Mujaheddin and became sympathetic to Afghans as "brothers" in ethnicity and religion

However, they forgot Afghans have whored themeslves out to Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, USA, and now China in their attempts to destroy and annex Pakistan.

There is another who is on a break for being very illogical, stubborn, and other reasons.

Nobody else but army itself is responsible for this mess. They continue to inject themselves in matters that they have no judistriction to intervene, doing so since Pakistan's inception. As a result no system has taken roots in Pakistan. Army today is no more then a criminalized entity, a mafia victimizing political opponents. Today we are worst then North Korea.
And the irony is all those so called champions of democracy and freedom are silent on this because this actually suits their agenda i.e. a subservient Pakistan.

Army's problem is a lack of professionalism and actual meritocracy, always has been. You need to accept that these people come from a culture that treats important things like a tea session for old babbus. Competency nowhere to be seen.

Some things can be easily picked up - take PAF and how it learned a lot of valuable skills and operational standards from USAF. But when it comes to maintaining a professional standard and being meritocratic as culture across institutions? This wasn't learnt, eventually it becomes babbu tea session again.

Even with political meddling there's no reason for things to be THIS BAD.

obviously, if they are running the economy, hospitals, foreign affairs and NADRA among others, they simply do not have the time for such matters.
Let every bloody institution do their jobs, this way, the faujis will have more time to do what their job is i.e defense.

Compare the number of suicide bombings occurring in every corner of Pakistan during American occupation of Afghanistan versus now.

It’s not rocket science what they were doing. You should count your lucky stars that they left.

Again this delusion of Pakistan helping taliban. Where did Pakistan help taliban? Yes at most with refugees and making money off NATO containers. Infact Pakistan made billions from the US. Pakistan provided bases, routes and much more to US, u think taliban will forget that? Pakistan even handed over the taliban ambassador to US and he was tortured in guantanamo bay. We had jailed the others and only freed them when taliban made a deal with US. Pakistan handed over thousands of taliban, including Pakistan citizens who mostly died in guntanamo bay. Taliban see Pakistan as a US puppet, its the reason they talked directly with US and made a deal.
I feel this uptick in violence is an excuse that Pakistan will use to provide new bases to US.

Pakistan and US were supposed to be on the same page on the issue of which groups to dismantle but nope.

US does not have unlimited patience of-course.


US settled its matters in Afghanistan by defeating Al-Qaeda Network and convincing Taliban leadership to not support it in Doha Accords (9/11 issue settled in this manner).

Some in US are now laughing at Pakistan. Nobody will go out of the way to convince Pakistan to make better decisions. This is our job.

Look at Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq in contrast. Completely different outcome.
