The raproachment with Iran had nothing to do with present situation, but is more a reflection of the interest to ween EU from Russian influence in regards to energy imports and leverage that comes with it. Take notes who is signing contracts with Iran nowadays, get clues from that, who was pushing behind the lines for this raproachment.

How can you be so naive to truly believe US will support carte blanche Iran. This is delusion, from AIPAC lobby to long term interests of US observable through their actions of a balancing act, never leting anyone grow too much which Iran as sole wielder of power would with puppet states like Iraq, Syria and Hezb ran Lebanon.
